This is a nice idea, although it may promote 'touchy subjects' such as politics and religion as they are in the new a lot.
Well we have a shoutbox to get info like why the server is down around, I feel this wouldn't bring much good unless its like staff only posting, because we already have general discussion for updates(in my opinion)
