Suggestion: ColourMotd

Colour motd's are supported a part of the 1.4 update.

In the server.properties file, where the motd is set, you use '§' instead of '&' and the normal Minecraft colour codes.

 

How exactly do you find that symbol on a pc? Can't see it on my keyboard anywhere lol

 

It isn't on American keyboards.

 

It's not on the keyboard, you'll need to copy and paste the symbol if you want to use it. I went into word and under 'insert symbol' I found it there, then copied it.

 

European Keyboards have § on them.

Pfft, silly americans and their lacking keyboards.

 

I smell a conspiracy.. I think the non-Americans purposefully sneak into our homes and change our keyboards and take the crazy symbols away. Sort of like the tooth fairy, but with more of an evil intent. I'm on to you now, better watch your backs.

Right but with colourmotd you can use other colors, is that correct? Or was I just assuming that...
I was thinking it would expand on the amount of colors used in shouts/signs but now that I look at it I'm not sure that's so much of what this thread was about. >.<

 

What do you mean? Because the bold, colour etc is already implemented with signs and shouts.
