Minecraft Name: D0rc Suggestion: Change the amount of pork in total from voting from 80 to more like 5-10. Reason: Currently, I notice users saying "Oh, I'm out of pork again, time to go vote." I myself have the same feeling. Currently, even being a PvP'er and needing lots of food, I use only about half of it, so I skip voting the next day. Less votes is not a good thing. Any Other Information: By doing this, we will do two things - encourage user economy between food items and farming items, like melons, bread, etc. This will keep the high saturation/food bar giving foods to rare since they are only cooked meats, and mobs are hard to come by (like impossible actually.) and may actually make a economy for them exist. Breads/melons as well being farming items will now be in the user economy - and in the next update, pumpkin pie as well, plus the new potatoes and carrots. I think it should be 4 from each vote, meaning 20 a day, which is plenty for most. Whoever needs more will create a market for food. Or they will break a couple melons...
A couple? They give like no saturation level, you go through them like you go through dirt when excavating with an eff III shovel. Anybody who PvP's needs that pork, so they'll go for it. Sure, the farmers might crash the market quickly, but then we will actually see variety. It can't be worse than it is now - free, all the same, and all the best it gets. Still, the less pork they get, the more of other food they need to buy. ./kit starter also gives some if I'm not mistaken. I don't think 5 is even too few, it really makes people want to buy some food of their own... (Also, I will say the market will take time to convert. Some people have hoarded tons of pork...)
I respect your suggestion, but I disagree with it Maybe why people do actually vote is for the amount of free food they get. So if the amount of pork that you can receive is reduced there will be less incentive to vote. People might be like" Ahh its only 5 cant be bothered" As you said its bad to have less voting Thats my take
This is true, but it's like I said, some people do want that pork. Enough to get through half or more of the day I think will do. You do prove a point though, people may only want it for the food and all that, but we'll see. What we can also do to fix this is make it so there is another incentive to vote - something I can't believe I completely forgot to mention in the post. (Might edit it in, I knew I was forgetting something.) Keeping the food low but adding something else you can never have "too much" of, like exp, cash, emeralds/diamonds, etc... Whatever Andrew decides on. Thanks for pointing that out though.
I meant a couple melons if they were starving and desperate. Still, it only takes a few moments to get stacks of melon slices to last you a while. On the PvP note, I PvP a large amount of time and usually only go through around a 1/4 stack to a 1/2 stack a day of pork while PvPing. Either way, it could be decreased easily without making problems.
