I don't know about how the emotes work here, but it might just need to be recolored (one of the forums I use lets the admins upload custom emotes).
If it's easy, I would love this to be implemented. If it's just a large hassle, I can live without it. I use that grinning emoji a lot, and the classic yellow would look good on it rather than the current puke green.
