Minecraft name: Pushkar Suggestion: Censor chat from swear words. Reason: I see almost everyday now new players come in and start swearing when they get mad. This happens quite a few times, and everytime a mod has to come and warn them about their language. Instead of all this hassle, I feel we should have a censoring plugin wherein we can either block them out with ## or just change them to another word. The younger players, and neither any of us have a need to see such words as well. Other Information: I have found a plugin, although I am not sure if it will work fully. -1 We beat this horse to death about a year ago. I'll edit in links to some of the threads when I get a few min.
People will just learn to bypass it. And before you say "well staff can just update the filter", I'd rather staff spend time being staffy and not spending the rest of their natural lives updating a swear filter.
Censoring has always been pointless in my opinion. When you censor a phrase, the exact same meaning is still there. If someone were to swear at me without censoring and with censoring I would be equally offended. Anyways, people can find there way around these things easily. It's not at all rocket-science and if an angry player is not able to swear with this plugin, they can use a $, space it differently, etc.
IIRC, these plugins censor private chat. I wouldn't want that, someone's trying to get their point across, not have some of it censored because people can't handle some words.
