I suggest that Moderators inform players in the nearby area of when a butcher is going to occur, like the auto restarts. It gives players a little time kill their mobs they spent time on trying to spawn and to me that is not fair. I do realize that it lags the server, but there should be a warning given. I spent a lot of time looking for some cows in mining world, I finally found, breed them, waited for them to grow, then poof they're gone. All I needed was a few minutes. My personal time frame should be a 5 minute warning, then butcher. Anybody looking at the screen will see this and then kill their mobs.
If mob traps are that laggy, why are they legal? Many things are disabled because they cause lag (chickens, cactus, pistons ect) so why are mob traps legal? Personally, I believe they should be illegal, considering that you can basically just afk and get money, as you would with cactus.
Mob traps that cause lag are not the auto killing ones, they are the ones where people afk and wait for mobs to spawn, after a while a lot of mobs accumulate and cause lag, that's when butchers are done.
