Minecraft Name: Bashdash100 Suggestion: I suggest that we add a new mini game called Build battle. It is basically a game when everyone is given a theme or item they need to build within 5 minutes. After the five minutes is up, everyone is taken to each plot and vote for the best! For example if the thing to build was a space ship, everyone would have to build a space ship! Reason: I just thought this would be a neat new mini game for when the hub comes out and it seems to be very popular on other servers. This would also be a great way to make ECC builders even more talented in a variety of different situations. Other Information: Add this when the hub comes out, we can also reward ECD for wins and amount of votes. -1. large amount of development needed for something that ~a few~ people might do. great idea, just not feasible. Development could be spent more effectively elswhere.
Votes would be super easy to rig, and the voting would be entirely subjective. There is no fair to to distinguish a "clear" victor if all people have different tastes in what builds should be. The only fair way to do this would be to make a rubric, which would then remove the creative part of it. I think the only feasible way would be to remove the ECD amount so people don't try to fix the voting, but then not many people would want to play it. -1
Like SG, boosting would be illegal and punishable in various ways. Small things like that shouldn't make a suggestion be thrown away, I'm sure our dedicated, creative staff would come up with ways to ensure this doesn't happen.
build battle is the greatest! I think that any type of mini-game is worth the development time as it connects the community. +1
Well I believe as a community we all need to be truthful, and this is a great test. Also a truth would be to report someone who you believe has constantly voted incorrectly, if that one player has been reported multiple times then that player will be banned/punished/fined etc.
But again, there is no way to tell if someone has voted "incorrectly", because it is all people's opinion on what's better. There's no way to accuse someone of throwing games because one could always jut say "It was the one I thought was the best", and no one could argue with it because just because you thought one was the best doesn't mean others will. Yeah everyone should be truthful, but every community has flaws, and we can't just pretend they don't exist. I would do a sportsbook bet that someone would try to abuse this, and then, unless they openly admit it, we can't do much about it without pictures proving it was thrown, because again, its all just opinions on who deserves the money.
sorry let me rephrase that, constantly voted the worst vote. (you can take screen shots etc.) now I know that this is flawed but it is certainly a lot better than nothing. You could also lower the prize so that rigging isn't as rewarding.
Even though this suggestion looks like it will never be added I just wanted to add what if they didn't show who built what until the end? They could also silence chat during the voting period. I honestly don't know ;p Just throwing out ideas here.
