Minecraft Name: Kolipoki Suggestion: Better/Different way for returning players to get new towns. Reason: As the 6+ month rule, any tycoon can claim land whose owner hasn't played in 6 months or longer. The original land owner gets no compensation for this loss of land. Returning to the server they will find that the land is no longer there's and to get a new zone, they must save up for the rank above them. Returning EcoLegends have to come back with nothing a make 400k to get a single land. I propose that players should either be allowed 1 claim for being mayor or allow them to purchase towns in the original price order without change of titles. For example, if an EcoLeader with 20 Towns returns after 8 months and found all his towns claimed for (Option 1) he would get a single allowance of 1 zone to start building or (Option 2) would be allowed to by his first town at the cost of a mayor (85k) while retaining his EcoLeader title and so on and so forth. As of now, he will have nothing and have to save 400k for a single claim. In addition to this, since you cannot have an infinite number of towns, the EcoLeader would only be able to purchase 6ish more before hitting his limit. Counter Arguments: With this suggestion in place, I could see users purposefully leaving for six months to get a new free town while his friend claims it cheaply. However, since the Town Transfer application requires the user to have enough money for his next town, only minimal money could be saved. Just don't go off 6 months. All you gotta do is log on once every 6 months and your safe, even just logging in on the forums or through minechat works. I understand your point, but I think it's fine as is
Sometimes that cannot be helped. Maybe you're on rough times and can't pay your internet. Maybe you go to foreign countries and are helping people. You're in a crash and go in a comma. Maybe your in the army.... etc It's annoying to loss all the work that you've done.
If you go into a comma and live, go into the army and return healthy or survive a crash, you shouldn't be worrying about a minecraft town.
I completely agree with this. I think that there should either be a way they can get a new town, or they should be compensated in some way for the towns they paid for but no longer have access to. Especially those who left before the town claim system was implemented.
I don't think it's that hard to log onto the forums or server once every 3 months? Chances are your seen will disappear so the 6 month rule will go by the forums activity. If it really means so much to you not losing your stuff, logging on once every 4-6months isn't that hard. Even on tough times imo I'm all for helping users, but I'm also all for people recycling stuff
It's not the fact that I lost the towns, it's the fact that I lost the ability to replace my town. Recycling is important. I believe it should be done. Otherwise you'd have a lot of empty, run down and incomplete towns. Don't miss interpret my post. I don't care about my old towns, it's the fact that I don't get the ability to create a new one. Depending on what you lost, you are basically a builder again expected the pay the price of a Pres, Tycon or EcoLeader to get your first town. With the current setup, if you leave and you're given nothing, it's almost better to start as a builder again. That way your first town is only $100k as opposed to $400k+
I think it's mostly for the players who left before the rule was implemented... How would they know that they have to log in after 6 months to keep their town if when they left there was no way at all that someone could get the town if they had no other owners in it? I think it would at least be nice to let them start over and for their next town it would cost 85k, then 120k, etc. as if they were buying the rank again.
As someone that left before the 6+ month rule (and seeing towns abandoned for 12+ months before I left) due to a "personal situation" and returning 18 months later to find myself broke and town-less, I completely agree that there should be SOME sort of help. The Ideas, as stated above: Monetary Compensation: Depending on the rank you have (and will retain when you return), make a set amount that you would receive. For example (not real numbers) Builders = nothing, Resident = 5k, Mayor = 40k, Pres. = 100k, etc. Maybe half of the cost it took to buy the rank you are before you left. Town Coupon: If you had 6 towns before leaving and none upon return, let's say your first "returned town (#7) would cost 85k, then the next one (#8) would cost the normal price (#8 = 400k), just to give you a little jumpstart. Reclaim: You leave and your towns were claimed... by someone that is now also 6+ months gone. A Special Rule that you are allowed to reclaim one (or more?) of your original towns without having to spend the "Tycoon claim" cost. Obviously, this is something that would not be happening very often, thus a GA+(?) level action. I know there is "last seen" in the forums, but is the "the previous last seen" recorded anywhere? If so, maybe this would only apply to people, like Clou said, that have basically been retroactively included into a rule that didn't exist before they left. It was a little crushing to return to find that my Mayor town (Extreme Hills with castle walls, rail system, and underground farm) had been flattened, my President town (underwater city) had been dirt paved over, my chests lxc'd, and my bank balance reset to $0. I dug out of it, but it was a much steeper climb than starting from Builder. It's almost a handicap or penalty for returning. *sad puppy dog eyes* Do you not want us back?
Just buy a town off another user for like 20-30k? I've gotten 200x200 plots of land/water for as cheap as 10k. If you need help making that money play some sg, vote, and do petty jobs for people such as placing dirt or other blocks (make even more with fly if you have it). I understand you feel like your things have been stolen, and I also understand how much it sucks starting from nothing, but to be honest starting back up isn't that difficult, just takes a bit of effort. If you need a plot to stay I would be more then happy to give you one for free to get you on your feet @kolipoki , and even if I wasn't here you could always buy a plot for 1-2k. Now if you wanted a portal or other town features you would need to get a town transfer which I believe is 250k (I could be horribly wrong, but I know they're over priced to a degree) which would take a bit to actually acquire, but if you have a 200x200 plot of land I feel you are good to start making some serious ECD.
Well it used to be that unless the person you are buying from is paying your expenses, the town transfer app requires you to have the money for your next town to be used. So it would be 260k as opposed to 220k (40k going to person you're buying it from and 220k for additional town) Did they change it? Thanks for your concern. You're super nice. I just found random land and locked all my chests. I'm not one to find a plot in a town.
Town transfers are always $250k. No other fees that I know of, but you can buy towns from people without transferring it.
I'm torn. I was gone for 6+ months and logged in for 10 seconds every week or two. I knew the rules and didn't wish to lose everything, for when I was ready to return. I undertand this is not feasible for everyone. If you are concerned you are not going to be able to log in once every 2-3 months or longer, then you may wish to place someone trusted as co-owner of your towns. I am sure there are plenty of trusted players who would be OK being made co-owner with the promise of not claiming the town. I have a group of friends and we have done this for each other. Co-ownership strictly to prevent claims. We have talked and come to an understanding. Of course, this would work only in the current system because everyone should know the rules going forward. I can see the point being raised for players who left before the 'town claiming' rule came into existence. So I guess I would +1 the idea, but only for the players who were gone before the claiming rule and the six month rule became rules. For those who left after those rules were enacted, I feel there are too many options with fore-knowledge. With that being said, I find it hard to think of how a blanket rule could cover this. One town? Multiple? ECD compensation? Some kind of sliding scale? I'm not sure. What if they were banned and never appealed and finally appealed and returned? Does that make a difference? I don't like just giving them "free stuff" just for not playing. But I empathize with the situation. If something were implemented, I probably wouldn't object.
I don't necessarily think that it would be "free stuff" I feel like it would be more of "Oh... we gave your stuff to someone else cause we thought you hated us. Here, have something similar. I know it isn't what you originally had, nor is it as good, but maybe this will make you want to stick around instead of rage quit since we took all your belongings. Sorry."
I think there should be some sort of compensation for it. I mean after all things do come up. I've logged out for over 2 weeks and losing everything in my inventory before. It's a frustrating thing to have to start with no tools let alone being a pres/tycoon and having to pay 100's of thousands of eco dollars to get a legit town for yourself. +1
