Minecraft Name: Iticip Suggestion: That we add beacons as blocks, however, we remove the shine/beam Reason: As a builder, beacons can be utilized very often. They are a cool, sheik block that could potentially bring a new aspect to the market place economy as well. By removing the beam, we eliminate any possible problem they have caused in the past, and still allow them to be used for decoration. Other Information: This would be similar to what we do with enchantment tables. Link to this plugin: N/A
I like the idea but at the same time I don't only because of the money. It could really make an ecodollar worth less if everyone has 30k+. so the price of everything would have to go up. -1
why not allow the placing of the beacon but not the status and beam I mean , the beam causes lag , and the status effect causes OP stats. so just the glowing part of the beacon would be cool , i always wanted to light up my house with it
As @OhMrsKittyKat pointed out, beacons can have effects on the economy. So I think placeable beacons for decor could be fun if you deactivate the effects beacons can have.
I think if the beacons could have the effects removed, similar how to we block enchanting, they'd be great. They'd take netherstars out of the economy, as netherstars are needed to craft beacons. One issue is that if the beacon block has to "search" every second/tick/etc for the pyramid under it to produce the beam, that could lag the server if in mass quantities. Granted, I'm no developer, so I could be way off.
The effects are already disabled as far as I'm aware. As for the light effect I do not believe you can remove it other than not having the effect in your resource pack.
