Minecraft Name: monkeyBUTT244 Suggestion: Remove "Evidence" from the Ban Appeal format. Reason: It's useless; no one is going to need Evidence in order to show they were banned, it's right there on the screen. Any Other Information: N/A Link To This Plugin: N/A
I think the "Evidence" is there in case the users got any screenshots to backup an argument saying why they should be unbanned. For example, someone gets banned because a complaint was posted against them for donation scamming. If the user actually did purchase said donation feature, but for some reason it wasn't processed, he could post something like a screenshot of the transaction, or its code so andrew can verify if it actually happened. I know it isn't used much, but in my opinion it's just better to leave it blank than completely remove it, as it reminds people that if they actually didn't deserve to be banned and they have evidence to prove so, they can place it in their appeal.
I bought my account from my friend back in the UK. Recently, we got in a fight and she took the account back. I have no way of contacting her, but I am still trying to get it back.
You're wrong, and right. Your fact is right, however, you saying it isn't much is false. The evidence factor, although may not be used, it can be used to be very beneficial.
In your example, the guy could just pm the transaction ID to Andrew if this were to happen. You are supposed to do that anyway. I can't think of any other examples valid to argue against my point, tbh, and I honestly haven't seen it used once.
The evidence section is not to give evidence that you were banned. (We know that as you said monkey.) It is to provide evidence your ban was an illegal one. It is there so you can say “hey! I should not have been banned and here is why.” Some examples could be you got banned for saying vulgar things. Well you don’t remember saying anything, so what gives? You look at the complaint and hey! That evidence of me saying vulgar language is photo shopped. So in your ban appeal you would state this and in the evidence section provide your evidence that the screen shot was photo shopped. You could have the example of you weren’t being the most friendly person ever, but wasn't breaking any rules either, and you were still banned. Well why is that? You see the person who banned you doesn’t really like you much. You figure that this was an illegal ban of a moderator taking personal frustration out on you for no good reason. So in your ban appeal you state this and in the evidence section provide any evidence you have of this moderator not liking you and why their ban was illegal. The reason we almost never see the evidence section being used is because almost no one is banned illegally. As you know monkey, staff always makes sure there is a good reason to a banning.
I see now, thanks. But I think the staff team should enforce the fact of "if you have evidence, please use it as this will make your case against your ban easier to handle". Make it pop out because now that I've seen a rather lengthy explanation, I realize that this is extremely important and is commonly unused, hence the fact I and most others never see it.
Okay here is a good example for why evidence is useful: Lets say a user is banned based on a single screenshot. The banned user may have further evidence that puts what they said into context and either gives us a reason to be more lenient or could completely disprove the 1st screenshot. Evidence can help those who were wrongfully banned or believe they are innocent.
