Reason: Lots of users always have the wrong format. This would reduce the amount of work moderators have to do, and make sure people get the appeal format correct. when we introduced the complaint form, we decided not to make a BA form because its part of the challenge to get unbanned
-1 The reason it was originally not added was because if you want to appeal you should make the effort of finding and pasting the format.
Trust me. Most players know how to copy and paste, and there are some younger users on ECC too. It's more of being difficult to locate the format sticky for ban appeals or getting distracted by the "file a user complaint" or not be instructed yet to use it.
Someone who can't bother to read the sticky threads with very descriptive titles shouldn't be appealing. imo.
ban appeals are supposed to prove that you're worthy enough to get back on the server the other things are conveniences for members who don't do anything wrong
I see your point. However, I just don't see what the difference is if you save a few seconds and save the mods some time by adding a form.
it's not about saving mods' time in order to prove worthy of being unbanned, you should have to find the format and use it properly
I 100% agree with this. Although i see hundreds of Unknown LWC requests yet in the guidelines it clearly states how to deal with them before posting. Just means nobody reads the guidelines...
Perhaps add this permissions within your age group on the forums if that's at all possible? Usually it is the younger age groups who do not completely understand the concept of the format nor appealing, perhaps you could have access to it if you were perhaps 12 years and under? Than again, how would that be fair to a user whom is 12 and could be intellectually better than a user who is 16. ( I'm all for people having to take the time out to find it, as they took time out of staff members day, as they had to ban yo sorry a$*es) (Than again, I think some improvements to make it more clear for people who do not understand it would be beneficial)
If anything, perhaps have the form available to builders only, and it becomes unavailable to residents+ (since they would have read the rules for sure and should not be getting banned in the first place)?
