Note 2 Andrew: I know I have bothered you about this before, but it is just something that would be helpful at least to me, but probably many others. Town Name Changes. I think that the town name change app should come back to EcoCityCraft. A while ago, when I first became mayor, I wanted to have a 200x200 farm. Later on, I realized how costly that was and changed my mind. Well, because I had originally wanted a farm, I had name my town FarmCraft, and even spent the money for a portal. Now I regret the choosing the name and I feel that this feature would be helpful. That is just my situation, and I am sure there are others out there with a similar problem. I have come up with a problem/solution list below: P: Well, this is a lot of work to change the name of a town, Andrew won't want to do that just so that the few people that want the name change can get it. S: Price increase. Like all other applications, this could be majorly increased so that people do not constantly change town names. P: This feature would cause insane lag, not allowing others to enjoy the server that much. S: I don't no that much about lag/bugs/anything too complex, but again price increase. P: Why add this feature when most town owners may never want to change their town names. S: Well, this feature could be added to the new town reset app. For extra money, people could change the town name as well as reseting the town. P: Wow! This seems like an amazing suggestion! Weeeeeelllll... i am of the opinion that though this would be nice, due to the amount of work andrew already has it will not be added by itself. However, as an addition to an already existing reset app, this might happen... potato
I haven't used worldedit in a long time, but I think Andrew would have to re-protect a town to change the name. Would be similar to making a whole new town, taking up too much time. May be a similar reason for town transfers being taken out. ...also, if no one has even looked in the town subforums lately, there are several towns that already have the same name. People changing town names to other town names makes things even more messy, confusing, and not working. I would really like to change my name town (and/or transfer it...), but I don't think it will be possible until Andrew can hire someone to do applications. If it isn't because of workload, I'm betting it has to do with plugins - it may not be fixable/currently compatible.
