Minecraft Name: TimmyChoi Suggestion: I want ECC to implement or dedicate a subcategory in the wiki showing the server prices of each item that you can sell. Also, maybe a daily/weekly update on user-user prices (or an approximation), and you can theres graphs, and you can see like the inflation of items, etc. Reason: Multiple people have been asking about the prices of items, and I believe that a wiki page with a list of all the items and prices would be beneficial to all players, new and veterans. A list will also help people with what to do in ECC as many people resort to the usual farming/mining as they dont know the prices of some items which may be an easier method to obtain money. A list also will help stabilise the economy instead of fluctuating prices, which can cause confusion among players. A user-user price list can be an approximation ie; (Nstar 450-800ECD approx) of average prices which can help people find a fair trade for the items they are purchasing. The ECC shop does not buy some items such as emeralds, so people usually ask for pricechecks and a wiki page devoted to player-player price guide can help solve the problem of how much an item is worth. Other Information: Doing /worth is sometimes annoying to price check every item and instead of spamming global chat asking for price checks from experienced members, people can just go on the wiki page and check it. This may be a tedious task for people who run the wiki page, but it is almost DEFINITELY beneficial to all players especially new players, experiencing difficulty. Link to this plugin: N/A
1- / 1+ This can't be done by the staff , it would require alot of time. Still I think this can be done, but it would be done by the players
The problem with user-user prices is that there's no standard. By setting the prices on the wiki you tell people "this is worth that much" while, in fact, the price fluctuates and could be a lot higher or lower as little as a day later. This means people are misinformed about the prices. Not to mention that people sell at different rates. I might sell my exp at one shop for 1.25 while the other shop buys at 1.15 (an example) This difference is not something you can easily incorporate in a list. Then there's also the workload that comes with maintaining that list... Which is a tremendous workload. If you want to know the current prices of most items then you either need to ask around or look around in the marketplace.
Thus the "A user-user price list will be an approximation ie; (Nstar 450-800ECD approx) of average prices ". I wouldn't believe that prices for one item might jump up dramatically or fluctuate all of a sudden in one day. Usually there is a gradual decrease or increase, except for certain cases (Andrew removing two voting sites).
I believe there's already a thread in the economy subforum that has weekly updates on nether stars or exp or something, and I personally intend to do something similar with other market items. As for the list of server prices, that seems like it would be far too tedious to create when you can simply do /price [itemname] in game
A while back Andrew said there would never be an official price list (i.e. nothing on the Wiki, forums, etc), but users could make one. However, I believe any price lists there were vanished at some point, so I do not know if it is allowed... (This is all for /worth prices.) Prices lists for things like netherstars, unobtainables, emeralds, and so on (flucuating/no /worth) have been allowed with no issue, though.
