Many users have clans/groups and I'm sure they'd love to make a private forum for them. I'm guessing @xpurexcorex is one, as he'd probably like to make a private forum for America Anyway, here's the link to the plugin: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/th-social-groups.891/ My idea is that users would apply using ECD for these groups, however, USD can work too, I guess. You basically get your own forum section, which you are moderator of (meaning you can delete posts, kick users and such in that section). You may create forum posts/threads in there, which are private and only visible to members of the group, whom you have complete control over of who joins. I'd personally like to see this - This adds another money dump, helping the economy all while adding a cool feature for users who own clans/groups.
+1, I love this. Now a couple things: - would forum rules be enforced in this section - personally I would like to see the cost of this be in EXP, like 250k exp for a forum section.
At the discretion of whoever owns the forum section. That's fine as well, however it is ultimately the administration's decision about the cost.
Fourm Pm's are hard with a lot of people. Plus there couldn't really be multiple pm's for different stuff. I think having separate threads would help everyone.
You get to create your own SECTION with stickies and such that you can fully moderate and and you can easily deicde who joins and who doesn't. It organizes things better, gives you more options, and has no limit to how many people can join. As @RaginDevonian said, forum PMs are hard with lots of people.
Nice idea in theory but seems very impractical in reality. This would require quite a lot of work from those with admin panel access and as I imagine this would be quite popular, I don't think that those with that access have the time to spend adding/removing stuff. Secondly, the plugin seems like it contains lots of bugs from reading the discussion. Not to mention it is out of date in terms of xenforo versions.
You literally just need to set up the permissions for the group initially and then simply add the group. Here's a tutorial of how to set it up: Else than initially setting up the permissions, it seems relatively simple to do. As far as the forum version goes, I don't know, though I guess it could still possibly work for our forums - That's something andrew and jamie would have to test.
