Suggestion: Allow symbols into chat. Reason: Symbols are fun! Symbols are fun to use in chat and I don't see the problem with allowing players to put symbols into their messages. Other Info: I'm not suggesting allowing spam of random symbols or Inapropriate symbols but of someone wants to say something followed by a smiley face or an and sign, ect. I don't see a problem with it. It seems like this rule is just unnecessary.
I've never really understood the problem with symbols. As long as they aren't abused and accent what you are saying, then why are they are problem?
I believe symbols are banned because of that fact that some of them are a bit crazy and can lag chat completely.
This rule was implemented way back in 2012 because it is highly disruptive to chat and it was viewed as spam.
Ya this makes a lot of sense, if you want a smiley face, just do I would hate seeing this stuff in chat.
Symbols are obnoxious in 99% of the cases, so instead of having to decide which ones are fine and which ones aren't, all of them are banned. Minecraft didn't even have symbols in chat until like a year ago, you can survive without them.
What's the harm in them though? For example, if I have a butterfly like εїз how is that harming anyone? It's just a silly harmless thing.
Well, lets consider this, right now symbols are not allowed at all. So we have very few people even trying to post them. I honestly think if we allowed symbols then people would start pushing the envelope and post inappropriate things.
