Minecraft Name: xX3PICREBELXx Suggestion: Allow people to still be able to get the Bitcoin medal Reason: I feel like it is unfair to just simply removed it, I can obviously understand that there might be a reason why but I see no reason why it shouldn't be made available by filing an application in the builder+ section. Any Other Information: I think an appropriate price would be $300,000, slightly more than what it used to be(I'm 90% sure I got mine for roughly $250,000 ECD when I paid someone to donate in my name), reason I am stating this price is that you don't need anyone else help if you are looking to purchase it with ECD which used to be the case. I also think this will be a great economy sink which are server could do with right now. I obviously aren't doing this for self gain as I already have the Bitcoin medal, I'm doing it on behalf of the community who with the current state of it will never actually be able to get all the medals which I don't believe is very fair. +1 I started working towards this medal yesterday and what happens? It's removed. I was really upset when I saw this tweet, and I would happily hand over 300k for the Bitcoin medal.
We should have the ability to still earn it - just like the previously known 'expensive rare ecc medal', make it purchasable with ECD. +1
Medals are meant to show you did something. If you didn't do that thing, you don't get the medal. It doesn't make any sense to give the same medal for doing something totally different. If we are going to make it purchasable then we should do the same as what's been mentioned about actual features if they get removed, 15k/USD. At about $42 for .1 BTC, which the medal was at, that equates to $630,000. If you really want it, you can still get it. Or you can wait until the "far future" when it should apparently become available. >> inb4 "but that's so expensive, it's unfair" Rough? It's less expensive than EcoLeader, at least. It's not like you can actually get all medals without a LOT of work or a LOT of money.
I'm okay with increasing the price, I say at least give the opportunity to get it - it sucks for new players who want to climb up the medal ladder.
It would make more sense to change the medal to something not called the Bitcoin Medal if purchasable with ECD. Everyone with the Bitcoin Medal would just have it changed to something else, but keeping it. Being able to get a medal called the Bitcoin Medal that has nothing to do with Bitcoins makes no sense.
I like that idea. Seeing the Bitcoin medal, and knowing I can't achieve it is absolute torture. If it was changed, I would be ecstatic.
Why should we be giving out medals for unrelated things? The bitcoin medal is a bitcoin medal, not an ECD medal. You should get that medal by having bitcoins donated in your name, not just spending ECD. Anyway, if we're going to give out completely unrelated medals for ECD, by that logic should we have an SG boss medal be purchasable with ECD? Or perhaps the events medals? What about donator medals? Don't all of those serve as potential money sinks as well, like you advertise for this suggestion? This literally destroys the point of a bitcoin medal.
Like Nicit6 and UnitedStates2 said, I don't really see the point of giving a medal for something completely different... But I do think there should be some alternative to achieve it.
Just because no one can achieve it anymore doesn't mean that's a justification for completely destroying the purpose of the bitcoin medal. I don't support giving out medals for completely unrelated reasons for what the medal is intended for.
