My apologies if this has been previously suggested! Minecraft Name: RyanJF1 Suggestion: Requiring users to copy and paste their rule violation in their appeal. Reason: Not everyone rereads the server rules every time they are banned. Most people think it would be common sense not to spam, scam, or curse, but that is no excuse not to reread the server rules. Everyone needs a refresh of the rules as they are always changing. Any Other Information: If a person is banned from the server, a little bit more work should be put in their appeal by fetching the rule broken. This would prove that they at least read the rule that they broke... I think. I have seen a few staff members do this to repeat offenders a few times. The only con I see is builders and newly banned users having a bit of a difficulty. Link To This Plugin: Change format under the sticky. Code: Minecraft Username: Reason: Rule Violated: Counter-Reason: Evidence:
This would be a good addition. As I said in Sneaky's suggestion, this would also show that they are actually making an effort, and care to get unbanned.
Code: Minecraft Username: Reason: Rule Violated (Paste from wiki): Counter-Reason: Evidence: Make it something like that so they don't get confused, I know if I were a new builder appealing I wouldn't understand.
This is a great idea! It would show that the person at least went to the wiki and read enough to find the rule they broke. +1
I would like this. Not sure how much the users would really "read" the rule t hey violated (key word searches), but it would at least mean they are putting effort forward and going on the Wiki.
I agree, perhaps put a link to the wiki next to it. Not to the rule section, but to the wiki, it's a bit hidden on the forums page. Otherwise, 100% agreed. Ban appeals are becoming easier and easier to appeal from, they should be a bit harder then randomly hitting a few keys.
Generaljoecool said something similar recently here: http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/suggestion-ban-appeal-complaints.66168/#post-315638 And as with him, I have no complaints against it. I generally ask for it anyways on certain appeals, why not make them all prove they know what rule they broke? Revanrose6
Instead of making them copy and paste the rule they broke, they should be required to write it in their own words. It isn't that hard to just copy and paste.
Copy and paste, however, is a task geared towards the younger user base who might not be able to put the rule in any other way and still understand it.
I happen to enjoy this suggestion because I mean, how many builders appeal and then you see lets say Revan say "3 hour temp ban. Please review the wiki before rejoining". They don't read the wiki, they still may not read it through this suggestion but they are at least putting the effort towards looking through the wiki.
