    Suggestion:
Add the 'owners' of spawn shops as owners in regards to WorldGaurd

Reason: There are multiple scenarios where this would be beneficial for the shop owner, and others. It brings a whole new economy to the market place. I have come up with a scenario where it would work. For example, if user A has a shop, but wants to rent out a few sign spots, it will be significantly easier to add the user who he is renting the space out to as an owner. This would allow the user to have full control over the sign, and would prevent the owner of the shop from having to check the sign. I have seen Joseph01234 utilize the idea of renting out shop space before.

Any Other Information: While this has been suggested many times, it would be far less of a hassle to do than many other similar suggestions, and would be the responsibility of the shop owner. It would be basically the same system we use for spawn statues.

This works for spawn statues, and you'd think if any issues would arise they'd be bigger there as spawn statues involve actual real life money. But there aren't issues with adding members to statues, don't see why shops would be an issue.

    Achievement Get: +1.

However, perhaps a modification is order to quiet any possible mod/Andrew discontentment?
My suggestion is that, should a user abuse the owner status given to them by doing something like removing someone they didn't add in the first place, or otherwise do something bad they couldn't do as a regular member, revert their privileges for being an owner for the next month or so, possibly 2 months, and if they insist on continuing the time span ramps up, and up, and so on, until it becomes a perma-ban from being an owner.
Edit: I apologize if that seemed badly organized or confusing. I was tired when I wrote it.

I do not think renting out signs in a shop should be allowed just because of the hastle to remove them if the user is offline for days etc. But I think that this would be a good idea in cases where users want to own shops with friends and have it owned by more than one user. This would also help those who are not able to place lift signs.

But then comes the problem of trade signs of multiple people being in a single store. What if two users have a dispute which results in trade signs having to be removed?

Not sure, but there could be contracts to get rid of these types of problems.

Tradesigns contain money and valuables, we can't just remove them. What if someone's unwilling to remove them? Contracts don't count for trade sign removals, and I can only imagine trouble from people "renting out" their shops to people only to find out those people aren't trustworthy, in the same way people are constantly getting griefed and scammed.

I don't see this system working.

Then that is the fault of the shop owner. It's the same way with buying donations, there is always a risk of being scammed. If a player doesn't follow through with their agreement, then a complaint may have to be filed. If a player does that in such a way that they go out side of their agreement, then they lose their sign and everything in it.

    Simple as that.

Also there's the fact that owners can add other owners, effectively making shop transfers useless. You could even "own" multiple shops like this.

Back to the comparison with spawn statues. If a user adds another owner, they lose it.

We already have spawn statues where owners can add members (but not owners according to the rules), so the problems you've mentioned (trade sign disputes, grief, etc) could also arise in/on a spawn statue. If it were to happen, what would the solution be, and why could the same solution not be applied to spawn trade shops?

Ive made a very similar suggestion in the past so obviously I agree...My reasoning might be a little different than what this post is asking for, I want to help HCP build his shop because he is a nub :3. But in all seriousness I do see people getting scammed with this if they try to use this to split the trade signs in a shop. Maybe there will be a simple application

"Why are you adding this person?"

    Possible answers:
"I need help building my shop"
"We are splitting the work in the shop evenly" each person gets roughly 45-55 of all trade sign usage
"This person wants 25%(any number) of my shop space"

If the person is breaking a part of this application/contract (as determined by the owner), they can be removed by the owner of the shop with 1 week notice and after that time all of that users signs will be removed if they havent been already. I would suggest a fee for this, maybe they pay 2.5k per week (no minumum time) they are planning to stay in the shop with no reimbursements for any reason. Just throwing things out there so make adjustments as needed.

I say: make rules against multi-owners, just like in statues, and its yours problem if you let someone you don't trust own signs on your shop...

I don't like the idea of freely adding people to your shop. However, i think it would be very beneficial for users to apply on the forums to add another user to you spawn shop. For instance, me and my friend would like to start a shop together, but we are unable to open a shop and have both of our permission to build in the shop. So, we have to come to agreements, like he pays for half of the 'tax', he gathers half of the materials, and he gets half of the profit.

This is lots of trouble to go through, and it is very confusing.

Please enable the ability to apply for perms.

Um, my biggest problem comes from when you lose your shop. What if the guy who 'owns' the shop forgot to pay rent? But the guy renting from him, still paid him rent. We have 2 people's trade signs in there, possibly more. Every monday, I'm authorized to clear the shops that haven't been paid. Now, it isn't just effect the guy who is listed as owner, now it is effecting more people and their stuff could be deleted. Then they get pissed off and we have more problems.

Essentially, I think this will only result in more issues.
