Reason: It would be good and fun and people will be more active and they will do things they might not have. This would be insanly hard to monitor. What about people who store money in trade signs? And in their shops? Also, how would you define "richest" people have assets, like EFF 7's and such.
The richest person on ECC would probably win the medal the next month and the month after that.. What's to stop the richest person on ECC to give all of his money after he has the medal to a friend?
Lets say I became the richest person on ECC, what is stopping me from paying a friend all my money and having him/her get the medal; then have them pay another friend until all my friends have the medal?
2 reasons why would someone give their money away because one of them might steal it and staff could record if you have payed it to someone else
Like i said, this would be insanely hard to monitor. Staff have enough to do as it its, they don't need to raid logs, looking for trade signs.
I have a few issues with this suggestion. Firstly, what if users combine their total balances to give each-other a boost towards this medal? Say user A has 500k, and user B has 1.3 mil. User A could give user B all of their money, and boost user B's chances towards achieving this medal. Unless the money was deducted from their balances, I wouldn't imagine this to be quite fair. Secondly, we already have quite a few medals to show off wealth, and I don't think we need another. The diamond hoarder medal alone costs somewhere around 950k, assuming you buy diamond blocks at $28. If you want to show your wealth, there are many other ways to do so other than a highest balance medal. Finally, I don't think 3 months is quite often enough, if this were to go through. There are only 12 months in a year, so only 4 users achieving this medal a year isn't quite fair to other players. Some users rank up to mayor within one month, and leave ecc the next month. If it were to be shortened to around 1 to 2 months, I think it would be a tad more reasonable.
