Love the Stock Trader idea! Let's me invest in stocks before I can do so legally in the real world! Just one question. Does the Stock Trader pay dividends like in the actual market? Do we get 2:1 stock splits from the companies stock? Thanks!
Mainly what happens is you buy a stock at whatever price that is. Lets say you buy 1 stock at $20.00. Lets say you want to sell this 4 days later when the stock jumped up to $21.50. When you sell the stock, you would get $21.50 back, so $1.5 profit. That's how payments work, its the Money increased/decreased times the amount of stocks you have to equal the profit/loss of money
but does it also pay dividends? Kroger for instance pays dividends on what it makes as a company to the people holding stocks with them.
Holding stocks itself doesn't give you money, only selling them does. Does that answer your question?
Dividends and splits are not supported by the trader, and don't appear to be for the foreseeable future.
Just sell out before the split and buy back in after. They are annouced well in advance, just watch the news and finance websites.
