Item: Star armor, Current Price: 2200 netherstars per piece of armor Suggested: 1300 netherstars per piece of armor Brief Description: Item is obtained my netherstars at the Star shop at spawn. Open Discussion: To be honest, i think the price for star armour is ridiculous, like come on, 2200 netherstars per piece = up to about 726k per piece of armour, which equals up to about 2.9mil for a full set of star armour. I think that if the amount of netherstars to purchase the item , PvP would be a bigger deal on the server. Let me know what you think below, Please no flaming or arguing, keep the thread clean and appropriate. iStomp
I agree with you, I honestly think it is too much, even for the richest players on ECC. but if it were cheaper than more people would have it and almost be unkillable, we need to find a happy medium.
If the prices were to be downgraded i would probably set a goal and go for it, I would go for it now but comeon, 2200 nstars a piece? Thats ridiculous.
Before I say anything about the suggestion, let me point something out. You cannot say "do not argue" on a suggestion post. The essence of a suggestion post is saying to people "agrue!". Otherwise it's basically "agree with my suggestion or go away". Because if I disagree, it means I'm arguing with you. On to the current issue... In the meantime, this set won't make Pvp a bigger deal. The current stuff people wear is already OP. This armor won't make much a difference. And really, pvp won't be effected by people having this set. Even if it was 1300 nstars, no one would walk into pvp with 5 melon swords. This set is more of a "Swag rich suit" then a pvp suit. It's supposed to be expensive, it probably won't lower.
Hehe one guy walked into pvp with it.... Anyway on to the topic, the price should be dropped it has not effect on pvp no matter what you do people aren't going to use it for pvp or they aren't the brightest.
You really only need one piece of star armor to get the maximum protection, though a second one will improve the performance by 6% (average). Star armor is only better than a full Protection IV set by an average of 15%. Because of this, I think that it's really only a collector's item, unless someone is willing to risk 75 hours' work in PVP. EcoCityCraft needs more money sinks. Therefore, I think that if someone wants to spend $2,900,000 on the armor, that is awesome! That is $2.9m that is no longer in the game. We need to take lots of money out of the game, not put more in it. Just my two cents. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Armor#Enchantments
I would like to see star armor be less pricey, however if it was to get too low I could pvp becoming a veritable sh*t show.
No. It should we lowered to a min of 1800. Its special it has Prot 5. If i got it I would defintley train to 1000 swords and all that. I did some testing with my own prot 5 armour vs prot 4 and it was quite a bit better. (testing done on private server)
My opinion is, nothing in the star shop should be bought with stupid nstars. It should be bought with cash. Full star armor should only cost 500k max, so it would not be wayyy to hard to obtain, but also not every single noob ever would have it.
500k is way too little for it, especially now that it has prot5. Also.. the starshop is MEANT FOR NSTARS. This means that switching it all to cash would be incredibly silly, as well as it would completely destroy the netherstar market, nstars would become completely useless
First off, we need to clear up how stars effect the economy. Stars and cash seem to be in a direct link, but in reality they serve different purposes. The only way to directly generate money into the economy by means of them is to sell the stars to the server shop, nothing else brings cash into the economy. As long as there are people who will pay more than the server for the stars for whatever reason; they hardly have a direct impact on the economy at all. They exist in their own niche, and can be swapped around; but cannot be generated from money. Keeping them in this form by the incentive of the star shop allows for a dramatic reduction in inflation issues. So, just because you can readily convert one to the other doesn't mean they are equivalent. If the star shop was done in cash, then stars would be only used for the medal and other specific purposes that, realistically, would be ignored by the common user. Then, every single user would begin to saturate the market with even more cash. Lovely. Aside from Zecrux's derailment, the price of star-armor is fine as it is; as stated above the protection mechanics make it a better piece of equipment, but within the range that it's valuable but not indestructible.
