I'm sure that some of you may have noticed that the staff requests are a little different. This section is now moderated by staff. What this means is that your requests are now done privately and not displayed for the community to see until some time after they have already been completed. Some question you may have about this: Q. Does filing a staff request change in any way for the community? A. No. Everything is exactly the same as before. Just file requests the same as before. Q. What does "awaiting moderation" mean? A. This means that nobody else can see that thread but yourself and the staff team. Also, any edits or additional posts that you provide to the thread will still only be visible by yourself and the staff team. Q. Why is the Staff Request section being moderated now? A. Several people of the community including staff members have not been happy with the way some people tend to follow the staff around while doing their jobs in this section on the forums. The new policy has been implemented in response to these complaints. Q. When do these threads become visible to the general public? A. These threads will not become visible to the general public for at least 12 hours after the requests have been processed and locked. If you have any further questions regarding this then feel free to ask here.
I like this change. I'm happy to see that something requested by the community as a whole has been implemented. Thanks!
Yay! No more LWC jackers! One step in the right direction. Also: How is the 12 hours thing done? Do staff have to manually do this or once the thread is locked it occurs? How exactly is it hidden from view? Can players be added to a 'hidden' threads? Can this be done in other forum boards? Thanks in advance for answering my questions... I feel like a journalist.
1. Yes, for now we put them in view manually roughly 12 hours after they've been completed (it'd be the next time staff handle LWC's after the 12 hours have passed. 2. Magic. 3. Players who have created the thread, as well as staff, can see the thread. There is not any need to add people to LWC threads. 4. Probably, though I can't see as it being useful in other forums.
