Since the staff applications section is now open full time, should people who wish to have their application locked, wether it be that they don't want to be up for selection or whatever the reason, shouldn't they just be deleted? For example, should this thread really be kept? www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/137285/ after all, the user is banned. Or even this: www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/137653/ Whats the point in it being there if it not an acceptable application? What do you guys think?
the only thing is that some people may want to reopen them... in that case you should always just save a copy of your app. i agree, delete instead of lock.
Locked applications based on request should just remain locked until application formats are changed (at which point they should be deleted). Anything else should be deleted.
Is it "official" that staff applications will always be open? It seems unfair to some of the quality applicants that have to hang in limbo without knowing one way or the other. Also, if a player asks for their application to be locked due to months of not hearing anything, there can be a negative stigma attached to that player unfairly.
I did read/hear somewhere that staff applications will be in 3 month cycles, Example: October to December, January to March, etc. At each cycle all applications will be deleted and the new cycle will begin. I also believe staff applications (for now) will be remaining open constantly. Not 100% on the above so don't quote me, but that's what I think happens. If anyone knows please correct me if I'm wrong. In regards to this suggestion, people often request locks to stop disputes or arguments going on in their thread. I'm all for deleting a locked thread on a banned user but if players request the lock themselves, they could always request an unlock.
Maybe we could add a sub-category just for locked applications? I think this would clean up the forum a little bit while still having the apps on record.
It's because I didn't have time, and then I had time. This happened twice, but it doesn't look like its gonna happen again.
@JamieSinn what about just making an application archive section and moving them there? And then that would clean up the application thread.
We will delete applications where the applicant is not currently eligible (doesn't meet rank requirement / banned within past 3 months). We will not delete applications locked per personal requests until cycle change in case the player who requested it locked requests it unlocked. Added-ish.
