Minecraft Name: Mr_JustinBlaise Suggestion: Spectating in Survival Games after being killed in game or clicking the sign at spawn on an ingame SG. Reason: Most Survival Games servers have the spectate feature and it is great for recording purposes and helps expanding the server (EX. Someone recording footage of spectaing their friend on SG could attract more people from youtube.) Other Information: People might say that players in a skype call could ruin the game, but SG is mostly about skill and strategy so it doesn't really matter. Link to this plugin: N/A
This has been suggested before, and it most likely will no happen due to it being an easy cheating method amongst players.
cheat? that would make the game more challenging and an advantage to the players with the less op kits of spy etc.
Yes, me and my friend could go into a game, have me die, then I tell him where everyone is. Cheating.
+1 If they were to cheat it'd be a pain in the ass to setup and it does almost the same thing as Hunter so I am all for this!
If your friend tells you where everyone else is then the games could be faster, and it is up to the other players to be better and more alert
cheating? it would make the games more challenging and the Games aren't easy in the first place the idea is to help players against people with kits and after your friend tells you where someone is it is all down to pvp skills at that point.
There's one flaw with this. It's the same thing that mattybillo mentioned before, which is ghosting (aka Spec Blocking). If you have ever played on a server where they have spectating, and you get in the way, you can cause arrows to "flop" and hits to not conmect by "standing" in front of a user while spectating. This, knowing how many people on ECC's SGs hold some sort of grudge(s) towards other players, I could seeing this being more of an issue than a benefit to be honest.
Same as hunter? Not really. Scenario : Player X and Player Y are teaming. X dies. Y is now alone, this can lead to either two scenarios with X, his friend, spectating: 1. It's a kits game, and Y doesn't have hunter. X would go around and telling Y locations of players, leading to me, and several other hunter donators to be pissed off, as they spent money on hunter, and turns out it was a waste. 2. It's a no kits game, no hunter can be used. Oh , X is spectating for Y! I've put my main points in bold, only to make it easier to read. Another thing with spectators, it spec block. A term used when a spectator goes infront a user that is trying to snipe, to block the arrow from hitting their friends. Overall, -1.
Cheating is not making the game more challenging, it is giving some players an unfair advantage over others -1
Apparently when kit buyers give kits to their friends, that is not cheating, but when people are spectating and telling friends where they are, it is? First, remove the ability to talk so they would be required to use a 3rd party system, and less people will stay to spectate. Is it a really unfair form of cheating? How many times do hiders with nothing win SG? Not at all or often. What about non hiders? Well, they're probably looking for others so would not mind seeing other players. Are kits fair to everyone, can you cheat, can you have an advantage? Yes to all of them, and it is no different from this. Except here, the cheating that could be done is minor.
