spcetator mode in sg

I would quite like to see this, however with sg being the way it is at the moment (not too many players and games last 3 minutes max most of the time) I am not sure if it would be worth adding a spectating feature as of now. As games are around the 5 player mark for most of the day, and once the first person dies, the game is usually over in about 30 seconds.

Also, on other servers, they usually don't usually have kits that allow you to go invis, and with spectating games, you usually get a tracking compass once you die so you can tp to other players to watch specific people. This could pose as a problem as you could just tp to the invis players to see where they are, then tell your teammates. But if this were to be added, I am sure Jamie could come up with a fix to this, by maybe removing invis players off the list that you can tp to. Or just not by having a player tracking device.

Edit: After reading what other people have to say, I have changed my mind about this, as it was stated, this could be a very easy way to cheat and tell your teammates where the other players are.

Spectating can cause cheating as you can easily tell your friends where their opponents are on the map. Given that there's money involved with SG, we don't need cheaters to get more money.

I think that disabling all chat communication for spectators could solve this problem. Not sure whether this could be implemented easily and/or be worth the time, though.

 

They're more likely to do this type of stuff in skype calls, lol. Still wouldn't solve the problem.

When you consider the relatively small number of players on SG during off peak it seems silly to have a spectator mode added.

As previous people have also said based on the fact that SG is a large source of income for a fair few players it this feature will simply be abused.

There is no realistic way to make something like this work.

+1 If people think its such and unfair advantage when they have almost all the kits then why don't we pay 1 usd for spectator mode

It actually makes it more un-fair. Like LordFith said, he could tell his friends what is happening which turns fair into un-fair and turns it into a less like thing.

kits have gone a long way in making SG fair and fun for others, and I believe this will too.

I think that sarcasm is not good because it is unclear what people mean and it is detrimental for the mental wellbeing of the players. -1

 

As much as I would love this to be added for recording purposes, -1 because of the cheating.
