I've been reading around the forum, and I see a lot of posts saying that the only legal way to kill mobs from spawners is by killing them in the unaltered (or semi-altered, I assume it is okay to replace the mossy cobblestone) dungeon. This makes me confuesed :? . The rules say the following "Mob Traps are not allowed under any circumstances. This means no falling, suffocation, drowning, fire, or cactus traps. You may not transport mobs to a central location through the use of water or anything else." Lets say you find a dungeon. In this dungeon, there is a spider spawner. You then put half slabs in to the bottom of one of the walls. On the other side of the wall (the side without the spawner) is where you wait with your sword. When a spider spawns onto ground level, they chase you but can't fit through the hole the slabs create. You then kill the spiders with your sword and collect the items/xp. How is this illegal? There is no water moving the mobs, no fire or lava to kill the mobs, no possible fall damage, and no water to drown in! Therefore, wouldn't it be legal? Please explain why it is illegal (if it is). Thanks in advance
I once heard some adm say that A TRAP is something that moves or hurts mobs in any way, if it doesn't - it is not a trap.
Thats what I thought, but I've heard what sounds like the flip side from some mods. Thanks for you input though
Having the server hurt mobs, (suffocation lava etc) or that move them with water and such are not allowed. But i can't find a rule about not letting them hit you. I would double check with a mod first but if they say yes then your good!
