    Something that really bothers me now-a-days is the people that rate other people complaints/ban appeals "funny"

    I know that this is legal, and they have the right to do it, but hear me out.

    Rating it "funny" is essentially insulting them, as the person who rated it found it funny that they made a ban appeal/the complaint itself, which many users try to get that message across by actually rating it that. It's a form of bullying and harassment to the users that you rate "funny" to.

    If someone doesn't know much about the forum rules/formats, and they made a post for the sole reason to help make ecc a better place, don't rate it "funny". They are doing the right thing in trying to get rid of bad people, and we thank them by essentially making fun of them? That's just wrong. I know a builder who made a forum account/a post just to report a advertiser, he used the wrong format, and people rate his post "funny" not cool.

    If someone makes a ban appeal, and for whatever reason you don't agree/don't like the person, don't rate it "funny". Keep your thoughts to yourself, all you're doing is trying to provoke them/try to get a message across like "you don't deserve to be unbanned" or "lol, that's the worst reason ever". Don't do it. It's just not cool.

    Finally, if someone makes a ban request for whatever reason, don't rate it "funny". If someone requests to be banned due to irl/in-game issues/addiction they have a problem that they're trying to solve, and by rating it "funny" you're showing that you don't want/care about them and that they're possibly serious problems are amusing to you. This has personally happened to me in a severe case of irl problems, and it simply made me horrible.

    All in all, don't be a troll, don't rate stuff "funny", it's not cool, and it shows people how "bad" you can really be.

    And i can already tell that there are going to be some trolls who rate this post "funny". Go ahead, it shows me/all of ecc who you really are.

    Agreed. Rating something like a complaint / ban appeal (/ staff application) is a form of bullying. It is like writing something very brief about someone in a HS bathroom stall, putting a note on someone's back, quietly laughing as they walk past every day, etc.

    If you find something personally funny and it would be an inappropriate place to rate it funny, keep it to yourself. Kind of follows the phrase, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

    The rating "funny" needs to be removed. (It KILLED me not to rate this funny although I would have just changed it right after haha)

    ^ True, they should remove the 'funny' rating.

    I mean on the positive side, if someone were to really post something funny, you could always just 'like' it... just like on facebook lol. Where as trolls will use it to their advantage. Removing it altogether would be much better imo.

    Yes, maybe staff apps too, though there are comments on staff apps sometimes that are a friendly non-troll joke.

    I have a feeling you cannot remove a simple feature from specific areas (at least not on every other forum shell I've had ACP access to). It may have to be removed all together, or every rating removed. In the case of the latter, the only thing that could be done is making rule.

    I've never seen it happen before (probably because I don't pay attention to anything) but it did seem pretty disrespectful. It really helps sort out between the mature ECC vets and the younger, obnoxious trolls

    Another thing thats bothered me is when people post +1 -1 etc. these people do nothing to support the thread, no valid points are given for either side and this doesnt help when im looking at people ideas, they say -1 and im just stuck there saying to myself... well why didnt they like the idea? Definately see this alot in the staff apps, many people say +1 just because they like the person, but why in your eyes would they be a good moderator..

    I dont know what to do about this but it just bothers me to no end that people are just trying to get their post count higher, or to joke around when the topic is something pretty serious.

    This is a pet peeve of mine and drive me nuts. As moofink said, trolls will be trolls but in time, it will all catch up to them. Trolling is against the rules. Though, there was one complaint about stolen torches that I think most people have seen and it was great and funny. In that case, it was "Okay" in my book.
