Something I think would be very cool for the economy is a /selling <message> and /buying <message> For example, if you say /selling Logs $30/stack And someone types /selling list It will come up with: Michaelwm is selling Logs $30/stack And the /buying command is the exact opposite Where it will appear Michaelwm is buying Logs $30/stack And /cancel would cancel your message Now, only problems would be things like too many messages and messages that havent been canceled, so a timestamp would do the trick if this is possible, then this would be awesome! If its not, well I hope it will someday !
Maybe something like /billboard would be nice. 50$ for an advert that lasts an hour. With a maximum of maybe, 20 messages? After that, latest ones would be automatically removed, disregarding time stamp of one hour.
Could be highly abused - spamming the selling list. Maybe limit to 5 a person, until they cancel there message? Or automatically trash all each...lets say, 1 hour? What I think.
I honestly don't see this happening. People wouldn't rely on the Market as much to sell/buy things, and less people using the Market means that the people like me, wouldn't have as many sales. The trade chat would die...nobody would use it, it would just sit there. Some people don't want to take the time to type a command just to buy stuff, or would forget, when there is a chat that they can see sales without any effort. Whereas the people who would take the time to type the command would get less sales, as the people who don't type the command only buy from trade. I think we should keep the Economy to have the least amount of ways to buy/sell things as possible. This way it's not too spread out. Also: It would be horribly spammed, even with a limit of 5 items that stay on there for one hour. Which is hardly enough to sell/buy anything.
@D0rc: My impression of this suggestion is to make, essentially, and in-game wanted advertisement, not a command to buy from other users. :b Would be nice if there was some form of semi-"permanent" advertisement system in-game that people could view with a command or two, but I don't know if it'd be used much or get abused with spam.
