Ok, so you throw the items into a system of hoppers that lead into multiple series of chests. People will be waiting at each of the chests. The good thing about this is there will be less chest lag and competition for just a single chest and it will be semi-equally distributed through the other chests! Hoppers can't be placed in ECC. They are outlawed for duplication glitches, and the fact that you can make automatic things like brewing.
