I know of a Resident, he goes by the name of Vinh_Kin. He farms pumpkins tirelessly and will soon be the proud owner of 2 melons swords. He lost a melon sword before to /clear. If you choose to follow in his footsteps you could very easily earn 1 million ECD.
Melon swords aren't the quickest way of making money, I have fly, macro mod and CJB therfore reeds and pumpkins can make a lot more
