I did some experiments with my lvl 85 herbalism and here are the results: (They are all based off of 200 long lanes, and I calculated the amounts by finding the time it took to farm the crop and retill the land.I then divided 1 hour by how long it takes for one lane, and multiplied it by 1 lanes earnings.) I also conducted a pumpkin experiment not to long ago, and they make about 9.6k/hour. 1 Hour of Melon Farming With an EFF 2 Tool: $11,460 - Compared to pumpkins $9,600 an hour, this is quite good. However, there is one drawback. The enchanted tools that have eff 2, require levels and are un-repairable, so after about 10 lanes of 200, your tool is broken. This reduces the time to about 2:30 per lane, compared to 5 minutes 30 seconds for the sword method. These tools can cost from around 1-5k each to buy, which would subtract your earnings to below 9.6k. Now here is the more practical, and easier to compare method. 1 Hour of Melon Farming With a Sword. Currently, on the wiki swords are the fastest way to harvest melons, and they can also be repairable with extended commands. They came out to 5 minutes, 30 seconds which is incredibly LONG. So you make about: $6,200/Hour With Farming with a sword. This is INCREDIBLY low, and this needs to be buffed. So what I'm promising is that we buff the melon slice price to about 0.90 cents. This is a 55% price increase, which would mean farming with a sword would promise $9,610/hour which would pretty much level it out with pumpkins. -Thanks for your time ^_^
