Minecraft Username: Natelev Brief Description: Sometimes, if a mob stack survives a reset, it becomes a single mob that's simply named "25000x whatever". This means that if you kill one mob from that stack, the entire stack will die. This doesn't always happen, I don't know what exactly causes it to happen after some server resets but not others, but it seems random. Instructions: 1. Spawn in a stack of mobs. 2. Wait for server reset. 3. Attack the mobs How many times did you recreate this?: I've experienced this two or three times, but @FrailDK and others have experienced it as well. Frail says that this has been an issue since the changes to mob stacking in skyblock about two months ago. Result: The entire mob stack will die, but only drop loot from 1 mob. Expected Result: The number of mobs in the stack should decrease by 1. Additional Information: I realise that skyblock isn't a priority right now, but this is a major bug for anyone who uses gold farms on skyblock. Personally, I've waited about a week for my pigmen to stack up in my gold farm, only for them to all be killed in a few hits. I'm not expecting this to be fixed immediately, but if this could be fixed before skyblock resets in a few weeks, we would be off to a much better start next season.
This is not caused by server restarts. This is remnants of an old stack reset we had. It only happens on very old stacks that are no longer in our stacking database. This won’t be a problem next season, nor is it a problem for any recent new stacks as of a few weeks now.
There is nothing I can do to even attempt to try and fix this bug until next season. This seasons stacking file is messed up. If it happens next season let us know. PS: Curious, do you have any successfully working 5 digit stacks right now? Or are ALL 5 digit stacks experiencing this issue?
I had 5 digit stacks that were fine a week ago, but this is a pain and it does randomly happen after restarts. Losing 25k pigmen will almost make you cry.
Did you watch those 25k pigmen stack prior to the restart? Does it ever happen with smaller stack sizes?
I've tried this with lots of smaller stacks of animals on my island, but I've never been able to recreate this bug with smaller stacks of animals. I've only ever seen it happen with stacks of 25k pigmen.
I had a single stack of 25k pigmen, and a smaller stack of a few thousand that weren't affected by this (out of maybe 15-20 stacks). I'm guessing that these were the pigmen that spawned after the reset?
I have never seen it happen to smaller stacks, seems to only be the 25k. And if you have 3 stacks of 25k it doesn't mean all 3 will do it.
Alright so I just spent a good hour testing this on our testing machine. I have tried numerous ways to reproduce this, none of which have worked. (I actually crashed my computer not just client by trying to spawn 25,000 pig zombies, lmao, ended doing it 1k by 1k and that worked.) Anyways, I've stopped, reloaded the server, even tried several different ways of reloading / crashing chunks, etc. Nothing I do reproduces this issue. My conclusion is that you are hitting old corrupted stacks from our previous mid-season file wipe. Highly doubt you are seeing brand new 25,000 stacks in the past week disappear, you are likely seeing old ones and not realizing it. Regardless, there is quite literally absolutely nothing else I can do. Please wait until the new season and let us know if you notice the issue again.
