hi guys and gals of ECC, after looking at another thread on the forum is was just thinking it about the idea of having a calculator set up so people can work out their profit of all items sold in their shop every day, week, month, 6 month or year. does anyone think this is a good idea? id like to see if i can give this a shot! obviously i would have to sell this somehow to make it worth my while, probably say $25k and then ill email you the file or whatever. this will be used for all sellable items on ECC. let me know what your thoughts are and if you think this is a good idea thanks!
..How exactly would you get the data for that? If you just get people to insert them, what's the point of them paying 25k? I'd rather use the classic calculator.
But basically what you would do would insert your prices that you sell at and how many you have sold that week per item and everything would be calculated for you and you wouldn't have to put anything else in, maybe 25k is too high but it'd save everyone a lot of work and you'd know exactly how much profit you make
I don't really want a compressed world file and calculator, I can do that myself for way cheaper than 25k.
I think the suggestion is for selling a spreadsheet (Excel, GoogleDocs, etc). He would place in the headers/formulas A1*A2=A3, and you would just have to fill in the price/amount sold/etc. Personally, I wouldn't use it as it is pretty simple math... But for the younger players who are computer/math illiterate... maybe??? I don't think there will be enough demand. And while this might be a good project for a beginner learning to use spreadsheets, it really isn't complicated enough to warrant being "sold" to anyone, in my opinion.
If they can't make a spreadsheet then how do you expect them to keep track of their sales? lol It still requires a ton of manual input.
It's a good idea but most people don't want to pay that much money for it. I think it would be a little more efficient than a traditional calculator but not enough to pay 25k. With that being said I'm glad to see that in your short time here, you're trying to make an impact on the server.
