Hey! I figured I would make an Survival Games tips and tricks thread to help you guys out there who love the game, but can't stand dying. I'm obviously not the best SGer out there, but I've learned a couple of things to help me out.

Tip 1. Chests: Learn your route. You want to at least try to memorize 1 route for every map, and try to make sure it has a decent amount of chests. This applies especially to non-kitters, as they have no starting gear other than the center, if they even chose to tackle the center off start. A route will also help you learn the route. I also advise against keeping spare, useless items. If you have an iron sword, get rid of the junk. Throw away the wood swords. This will free up space so when you DO kill the kitters, as you will hopefully be doing after reading this, you wont have to sit there and clear out useless junk and die to someone sneaking up on you. Throw the junk in a chest, so you can do it quick than dragging it out of your inventory. You can shift + click to throw an item into your inventory, or a chest, quicker.

Tip 2. Position: Position may mean more than you MIGHT think. It's not all terribly important, but it can you give you an advantage. If you are indoors surrounded by doors, e.g. SG 4, you want to make sure you have better gear than the enemy, or be very confident in your PvP skills. Reason being, is you are surrounded by doors, escape is of little option, so you want to be confident you can kill the enemy. If you are outdoors, you can bait the enemy and kite them around, to your likings. Always have an escape plan, if something happens to go wrong.

Tip 3. Escaping: When you are running, you have 2 choices. You can either run away without looking back. Or, if you plan to engage the enemy, you can run, turn around, shoot an arrow, run away, and repeat. This kind of execution is where the scavenger kit comes into play, very effectively. You can run, and if they're quite close to you, you can turn around, light them on fire with the flint and steel, and then run or attack.

Tip 4. Teaming: Teaming is often frowned upon by your victims. Throw all morals out the door. Teaming is very effective. I have taken out many of the legends of ECC SGers through teaming. BTTP <3, Oink Oink, and many more. But, there's a catch to teaming, if you DO secure the win through teaming, most teams will split the profit. Depending on how good your teammates are will usually determine if it's worth it.

Tip 5. Kits: I almost regret making this tip, but I must. Kits are fantastic. They give you the chance to stand up against the other kit users. Most people get upset with buffer and miq because of how effective they are. Keep in mind, people spent the money equivalent to a cheap headset, just to get an enchanted stone sword and bow every 30 min. They deserve quite the goods for that kind of money. I am not attempting to start a flame war, so please keep your opinions away from this thread and ECC about kits.'

Tip 5. PvP: This is my favorite subject. There is many secrets about PvP a lot of people don't know. I'm here to share those secrets.
Tactic 1: Low ground: If you have the low ground be blessed. When you have the low ground, and are within melee range, their hitbox is closer to you than yours is to them. In other words, you will get more successful hits off on them than they will on you. If you can spam that click button on them, their health will disappear in a mere matter of seconds.
Tactic 2: High ground: If you have the high ground, PvP can be a little bit trickier. My suggestion is, if you are outside of melee range, to shoot them with a bow. If you don't have a bow, I suggest running around to try and get on their level and/or lower. If you are within melee range and still have the high ground, try to jump over them and run, or attack if you are confident you can kill them. Tactic 3: Strafing: Strafing can be tricky, but it's possible. When you go to engage the fight, try your hardest to get the first hit. First hitting the enemy can be a big influence on the fight. When you sprint up to them, start to circle to one side. That will throw their aim off a little and allow you to get a first hit off. This is a very good strategy to use in Deathmatch or just on level ground.
Tactic 4: Block-Hitting: Block hitting is rare in SG, but has done wonders for me on the occasion. Block hitting is where you fight while spamming your 'Block' button to take less damage, while still dealing damage. This is seen in a lot of competitive PvP fighting, and is more useful is the enemy is evenly geared as you.

I hope this helped you guys! Please leave me feedback and your opinions! Tell me about these strategies and how you succeed and/or fail with them! <3 you guys! Bye

    Good guide :)

I use some of these tactics myself and they all work, some just require more work than others.

    First Bump

Second all of this is great. I always thought high ground was better and just blamed losing on my skills. Once I tried the low ground and started winning, I had to post back here. Thanks for the tips.

Push F3 and B at the same time on windows; Fn, F3, and B at the same time on a Mac.

That is incorrect. I think it was @JamieSinn who proved it: F3+B shows the collision box, but not the hitbox. You can even hit a minumum outside of it (FOr example the top part of the head) and still hit. :)

This is an useful guide! :)
