Minecraft Name: SammySosaI999 Suggestion: A spectate mode for the sg games! Reason: I play with my friends and I think it would be cool to be able to see what is happening in the game after you have been killed. Any Other Information: N/A Link To This Plugin: N/A
we were gonna have, or we did have it (one of the two), but it caused issues with people ghosting, blocking arrow shots, etc. If we can get past those issues then i think it would be an amazing suggestion. +-1
I would like this, there are just too many bugs with blocking arrows etc. As vengful said if we can fix that then it would be a good addition.
I think a way to stop arrows from being blocked would be to set a limit on how low the spectator could fly. For example the spectator could not go lower than 20 blocks above the ground. This would work to stop arrows being blocked and is being used in some servers where arrow minigames are present.
I have seen plug ins where if an arrow gets too close, it TPs you up. Or as stated above, we can have a set y point that spectating users can go, not too high but not enough to get in the way. This would help speed up games where there are only 4 people left. If your strategy is to hide, then you obviously don't have enough stuff to handle the death match. I think this would be a good addition and may be fun. I'd suggest disabling /pm for spectating users or chat in general. And I just thought about it, but what if users had to pay to be able to spectate? Maybe like $50 or $75 or more to watch a Survival Games, so the amount of users spectating isn't overwhelming enough to cause lag but at the same time it's possible and can take money out of the economy.
I somewhat agree with AgentHare on the disabling chat, but I believe that making someone pay for spectating is a little much. The lag would not be a large issue because there could never be more than 22 players spectating. (In a full game of 24 where only 2 are left at Deathmatch. Most players would leave anyway unless they had a friend still in the games or there were very few people remaining. Although paying actual money might be to much for the feature, I suggest a fee of somewhere between 5000-15000 ECD for the privilege to spectate games. This would take a very large chunk of money out of the economy and would also filter out many people.
I meant $50 ecd/ $75 ecd per survival games. Some people, including me would just like to spectate even if they did not participate. If this was allowed, more money out of the economy.I suppose I didn't read the suggestion right but I would like to just watch survival games in general.
I have an addition to what you are saying here. It could cost a reasonable set amount of Ecd's and to be able to do this you would make an application on forums as you would for survivor an such. Then when it is accepted, you have access to spectating.
Believe me I wish it would happen if there was a way people couldn't communicate, but sadly there isn't, there is still Skype and other programs like it. Also if someone does not have any friends in the server and the other player has a friend telling him where he is, it would very unfair. Also having it as a donation feature is still just not a good idea, all the donators who are already rich can tell their friends where people are then they get more money.
Well, it moves the game on a faster pace which is sometimes annoying when you play large arenas such as SG 1.
I think that people would use Skype in SG Games, but it would not necessarily be a bad thing. Many of the SG Games do take a lot of time because many people camp if they don't have good gear.
I feel this is a good and bad idea. Good because I like watching how people fight and watching how my friends are doing, but bad because communicating in-game can still occur, I think it won't be fair. Outside communication can never be stopped tbh. Maybe if in-game you can just fly around and not "tp" to people to watch them specifically - it would cause it to be unfair as you can tp to certain people and find out where they are. If there are no pms allowed to players left in a survival games arena, and if you have to find the players as spectators (hovering around to try to find someone instead of direct tp to them) then it would be fun. +1 in that case
Kukelekuuk00 is right when he says that the main point of the game is to survive, but he is also wrong in some ways. The point of the game is to be the last person surviving, but there is no way someone could be the last person surviving if they are hiding with no gear. Eventually they will be teleported to the deathmatch and will almost instantaneously die. Another of the main points is to kill all the other competitors, which can not be done while in hiding. If someone does not have a chance of winning the games or even killing anyone then it is not fair to help engage them in a fair fight. With the ability to spectate added it would create more fights and less wandering aimlessly until the deathmatch begins. Therefore causing more people that want to play the SG games and in turn more players on the server.
He's saying 'camping' is a survival strategy. People who don't want to die, stay away from danger. It is logical. Most wars are fought using what gamers call 'camping'. Those who run out into the open, die. That is just logical. On a side note, spectating could cause cheating. Considering that there is money gained from winning, we don't need cheaters. -1
An ambush/surprise attack has better results than a head-on fight, if there were spectators, then that tactic would be useless, because spectators can just give your location away.
