Instead of having them spawned in, have diamonds spawn in at a (VERY) rare rate. Actually makes people need to hunt and collect/craft things.
Keep diamond swords / diamonds as they give individuals with no kits the opportunity to kill a user with kits.
At the moment i believe that they are way too common at least, I have found one almost every game I have played, and do believe that they are overpowered from when I have used them, and other users I have seen use them. I personally like the idea of making diamonds obtainable in chests, and this way users can craft diamond swords if they get the materials, but at the moment I think it is a terrible idea to have this many per match.
The strongest weapon in a kit at the moment is an iron sword. The best armor is gold armor. There is no reason for a diamond sword to be readily available. Adding diamonds and sticks to allow users to craft their own swords is a much better option.
During the next maintenance, we will remove diamond swords. Diamonds will stay in the chests as they are. This will definitely balance things out a bit more.
