Accepted [SG Server Suggestion] changing prestige for SG

Each Survival Games season presents users with a new opportunity to acquire a Prestige Level. There is currently one Prestige opportunity on the Survival Games Server.

At the end of each month the top 4 players with the most wins will be entered into the tournament bracket for the End of Season PvP Tournament.

At the end those 4 months, there will be a single-elimination 1v1 tournament. The winner will be out of 9 matches.

The remaining two users will be awarded SG Prestige.

This current prestige opportunity is low-key whack, because you can work hard for the entire season and then not even earn the prestige. We need a prestige that has more certainty so people can dedicate time and effort towards achieving it, instead of the *possibility* of fighting in the tournament and winning.

 

The argument that the PvP prestige needs to be changed because you have to be good at pvp to get it borders on the absurd. If you lose the tournament after qualifying, it isn't a matter of not having ground out enough games, its the simple fact that you could not beat your opponent 5 out of nine times, and thus do not deserve the prestige.

You can get the other 13 prestige by paying people off to do it for you, and I would rather have a system based on merit then one based on one's ability to fill out sg games 1000 times a month.

That’s not the point, the point is there’s only 2 people prestiging from SG in the span of 4 months. And they keep delaying this tournament too, so nobody has prestiged since this system was introduced.

 

To win prestige for SGS right now you have to win the tournament which is supposedly meant to be held every 3/4 months with 24 players 1v1ing in brackets, but you need them all to be online and cooperate etc.
It is actually ridiculous, there needs to be a change, i've been waiting on this tournament for months and have no news...
Prestige for 1000 total kills or 1000 kills in one season (3 months for example) would be much more viable...
Even the old system of simply just make top wins for the season was better than this joke of a 'tournament' idea.

 

Sure, but what I was basically saying is, there is a way to prestige with sg, whether its a shit idea or not. there is a way. I just think that no matter what kind of change there is to sg's prestige, the gamemode wont be revived.

 

It is true that SG has problems other than prestige. Like kits and general lack of rewards. Though having some economic incentive to play would benefit this gamemode for sure.

 

Yeah, that's more or less spot-on here. The logistics of getting everyone here and in time for each potential match-up is just far too much. Especially when admins themselves who need to set-up the individual matches/tournaments aren't here 24/7. There's far too many current complications with this sytem.

So here's what I'm gonna do-
We're gonna reset SG stats.
We'll look at the top kills and top wins after 2 weeks post-reset.
The two people with the most kills gets SG prestige. The two people with the most wins gets SG prestige. If the same person is both top winner and top killer, then we default the #2 place winner and so on.
Everyone except for the 16 users who made entry are disqualified from this 2 week period.

This is a rather straight-forward way to finally get this rolling.

As far as any long-run change goes, that's under consideration. I can't comment on that at this time. But we'll just get this mess out of the way with this clean system and we'll get our winners by the end of the 2 weeks.
