Maybe give the rich hoarders another small reason to spend money. Open Discussion: I'm fairly new to this server having joined in Feb of 2012. I saw maybe 1 event (personally) that awarded an unobtainable music disc. I see many attempts at dumping out excess money from the economy and I think giving players more ways to dump it into the server is a good thing. Make a Music shop in spawn with a giant record on it or something (Records are circles, and Minecraft hates circles! hehe.) I guess the 0.1% population who has a "rare" Music Disc would be upset but then again change always brings angry faces. Keep the prices high as not to insult those players. This money dump, in the long run, is more important than maybe what 5 disgruntled players? I didn't include: 13 Disc dec: 2256 hex: 8D0 cat Disc dec: 2257 hex: 8D1 To be honest, those are obtainable and not sure how to handle those. Cat seems to be a popular disc because the song appeals to more players. Maybe a money dump on that would be good, I don't know. It would be cool to have all discs avaialble in the store imo. There are already a couple of music discs in existance and people won't buy them for that much. and this would ruin the point of getting those musicdiscs in the Aether Building competition. (or any other future competitions)
How would it ruin the Music discs rewards in the Aether? If you win the Aether competition, you're still getting a free disc that would otherwise be worth 50k. I have to disagree with you. I know many who would spend 50k to get a disc they can not get any other way. If you'd like to put it to a test, are you willing to sell me your rare Music Disk for 50k? I'll buy it!
More money sinks needed. So what if you sell them it would just set a standard price for the winners of competitions
The point of these music discs is to have them be the rarest items on the server and only obtainable through the rare server events held by Andrewkm. So far, only one event has happened that gave away these discs. This will not change. It has already been decided. If Andrew wanted these discs for money dumps, it would have happened already. Trust me on that. And no, I'm not a special music disc owner.
...I honestly want to see all the music discs available to all users. I understand keeping them to events, but we do not have enough events. Many users will win those few events and just /sell hand, die in lava, or somehow destroy the only disc of that color in existence.. :/ Either more of these discs need to be given out (more events - like a lot more - or more given out during events) or they should be sold for an extremely high price. Honestly, even with each being 50k+, there won't be many. There's too many different kinds of discs for users to want all their money spent on getting one of each. If it's such a problem, make them 100k. Putting a limit of discs in each sign for every three or six months is a possibility, too. Having them available at some kind of price during holidays would also work.
Heres an idea criticize as you will. Andrew, upgrade someone to Event Master, they handle server events and request unobtainable items from you. You dont need to worry about organizing, and we get more discs.
Either more events or sell them on the server. The winners of the aether competition were not guaranteed to be the only ones to EVER own a rare music disc.

Totally agreed! Music discs are too rare, there needs to be a way to get more of them out there so we have a variety!!!
