So the other day I was trying to sell items with another user by them paying me money and me throwing them the items afterwards. Anyway we meet at spawn where we are stalked by another player who transformed into a mob and followed us around looking to snatch the items when I threw them. After 15 minutes of going to various towns to try and shake the user we eventually risked the deal by doing it in front of the player. This gave me an idea, why not have a safe, secure place where members can trade with other members without the fear of somebody else stealing the items being traded? Maybe having a portal at spawn or similar. Players could be charged to use this feature/service either by a % of the trade value or by a fixed rate. This would give players the option to play the deal safe or risk the chance of looting for the prospects of greater profits. Does anyone else think this would be a good idea?
Just go to the west gate and hide. Or go home and ask a friend with tp to tp the other trader to you.
People can follow you into portals and not everybody has the tp feature. This is just an idea, it could be that this service could be provided by mayors for their town residents instead of a huge public facility.
I created a secure room just for this in my town. Top/bottom are furnaces locked by me. Walls have locked signs on all 4 sides. You can enter through the iron doors, then shut the doors via 2 levers that are inside to have some privacy. Best way to do this in the wild. Place a chest and /private it then /cmodify #name# to add the other person. you now have a chest only the two of you can access. As stated above for non enchanted item trades make a trade sign. That way there is no chance of someone not paying, or someone not giving the items. No one should risk randomly dropping their items on the ground to trade, there are so many other options already available. RagMan
