I have been wondering the same thing. It is possible that they might still be going through the screenshots .
With chanimeryl resigning from staff, gernen has had a lot of work to do to get the results together. I've been helping and they should be announced this weekend.
Well, thank you to both of you. That must be a gigantic pain in the butt. It was a very labor-intensive hunt.
Am I wrong, or did @Gernen announce the winner ingame? What about prize? What about second/third/etc. prizes ? Is a detailed forum announcement on the agenda? (btw: according to my math, my team should have had more points than how many Gernen gave to the winner team. I guess many screenshots were not considered valid, if that's the case, I wonder which ones)
Some news! I asked @clou44, and she said that they have the winners, but @Physicistsmom has got the prizes and they can't announce the winners and their prizes until she can. She (phys) is pretty busy these days, but hopefully she will be available this weekend.
It seems that the winners have been announced, however it is not clear when and how will the prizes be delivered. As a side note, am I the only one who expected something more? There were really a lot of tasks for 2 weeks, while way bigger prizes were given for pretty straightforward tasks such as answering in global within a minute (not that I'm complaining, I myself won one of those). I want to make clear that I'm not protesting against staff and I acknowledge that it was a huge amount of work for them (and I thank them for that!). It's just that it has been a lot of work for the participants too, and this built up a lot of expectation, and then waiting so much (because it was too much work) inflated expectation even more, and then... well, i think anticlimax is the word for it. Again: this is not intended to criticize the staff! I just think that, next time, maybe it should be a shorter and simpler competition: less work for the participants, less work for staff, less expectation, less delay, more fun for all of us!
I was referring to andrewkm's giveaway that took place during the christmas holidays: he screenshotted who was online at a random time, then extracted someone random from that list, then announched it and he/she had to prove he wasn't afk by answering in global within a minute. Basically luck.
Ah, you meant that. I thought that was a task for the hunt. But yes. For the invested time, I would have expected higher prizes. (I wonder what place team 7 reached...time zones prevented us from doing most 40 point screenshots. )
Really, I do apologize for the prizes. They were supposed to be much higher, but certain circumstances limited that. Future events will be better!
There's no need apologize, of course one "shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth" and we all thank you for all your work! We probably don't know all the trouble that you had to work around, so maybe my post was unfair... didn't want to seem harsh!
Did I just receive the 10k prize? But I can't find the special event item (so maybe I'm just wrong about the 10k and I had more money than I thought)
