Minecraft Name: Epislen Suggestion: Being TO LENIENT this kind of needs to be changed mods warn people for spamming inappropriate things i think i speak for most of the server when i say this they need to be banned no warning because you kick them they are just gonna come back on and just start spamming again also mods need to respond to things a lot quicker. Reason: so today i walk into pvp and i see someone spamming swears and stuff me sitomo BoomBox51 and many more people say in global chat can we have a mod at the pvp to get this spammer and it took about 4 minutes for a mod to comne for all you know this kid could have been spamming ip's for 4 minutes straight. Finally a mod came and dealt with it when i see that the user has left the game he was only kicked like what the hell 2 seconds later he joins again and starts spamming the same thing he was kicked AGAIN he comes back on 1 more time and spams the same thing finally he was BANNEDafter one to many warnings. Hello, I believe I speak for the whole staff team when I say the following: 1. We already have methods in place to allow the user chances to correct their ways which includes kicking them for specific reasons that appear on their screen. As evidenced, the user will eventually run out of warnings and that is when we take serious action. We all make honest mistakes and sometimes it is just lag. 2. We are all very busy handling various other problems on the server and often time there is a queue that forms where we systematically go through problems and fix them. It just simply takes time. 3. Obviously every case is different which is why we may kick multiple times before we ban. As many know, sometimes there are no warnings and sometimes there are multiple warnings. Lastly, this is what the complaint section of the forums is for. If you ever see anyone breaking the rules and a Mod is simply not available please file a complaint as we can easily go through that. If anyone else from the staff team wishes to fill in my possible gaps, feel free to do so ~sick24
well take this for instance if there are no mods available and some is constantly spamming local im suppose 2 sit there take my time making a complaint and wait like half and hour for a mod to check it and then he will be dealt with what if he stays spamming for that 30 minute time period?
Well unfortunately yes. But that is why the server has the /ignore command. If you feel frustrated, take it for a spin
I am against this suggestion for the two following reasons: Not all cases are the same. Swearing for instance. A simple slip up or saying one word does not deserve a ban. If a user persists in using language that is inappropriate further action will be taken by the staff team, but saying one word does not call for a ban. Same for spamming. Some users spam and get a warning in chat and immediately after stop. Others get kicked and when they return they stop spamming. If a user comes back and continues to spam after warnings are issued that user may face a ban for spamming. Harsher punishments like this where users are instantly banned for spamming or swearing will give the server a bad name. If a user comes online and then is banned for saying a word that is indeed swearing, but not that serious, it will make the server look way to harsh and not fun to play on. The server will gain the image of a super strict and harsh server with moderators and admins that are "trigger happy" and will ban you for saying anything. This will discourage new users from joining as no one wants to join a server and have the constant fear of being banned.
I understand what you are trying to say here but im just trying to say one you kick a user for spamming and swearing inappropriate things and they come back on the server and do it again it they should not get kicked again i see it as an automatic ban you already got your warning an you chose not to accept the warning its a ban simple there just cant be simple kicks for doing crazy stuff like when im in game there a lot of people that swear at me and crap cause i kill them i see all the harmful and hateful things to say to me and they simply get a warning. if there is just a new player looking at this and see that they get a simple warning it gives them the idea that they can spam hateful things to other people and just get a simple warning there has to be a rate at which there is an immediate ban like how its an immediate ban for advertising i will put some examples of complaints i have posted which i think should have been an immediate ban

Hello, Considering the case you referenced was handled by me I do have a few things to say. 1) Yes it took a bit of time. Staff aren't generally in the PvP world and sometimes we are quite busy. I know this can be frustrating but, I do have a suggestion. Don't post in global that you need a moderator. Do /list and PM one of the staff directly. If we are dealing with a ton of pms we will likely see that before we can see the 'moderator' request. 2) We give people chances because everyone deserves a chance. I have had a few people who did stop after a kick or two and change their ways. This is mainly because other places don't enforce rules and they thing they can get away with it. Then they get here and we don't take it. They test us, find out how far we will go, and then they reform. I think we are just as strict as we need to be. It is a fine balance between making the current players feel happy and trying to get new blood. We try very hard not to turn anyone off by kicking or banning too quickly and instead giving them a shot. Everyone deserves a chance to change and I full well believe we should give them those chances. Revanrose6
I think 3 hour temp bans for repeat offenders is ludicrous. I also think that letting serial offenders appeal and be accepted back multiple times only to have the exact same complaint levied against them is just as ludicrous I agree there is a time for warnings, but I also think that some people don't learn and need to be taught a lesson. Ban lengths should be lengthened, they should be able to be made severe. Like a month. 3 day max is bupkiss. 24 hour is next to nothing and 3 hour is basically nothing. Everytime I player is banned we look through their ban history before we do anything. We take multiple factors into account before we act on the ban. I know it seems weird to players who have never been in our position, but, there is procedures and steps we go through when handling any and all ban appeals.
I understand that there is a system and there are checks and balances and that we the users do not see what happens behind closed forum doors. But from the outsiders perspective I see the same people getting away with the crap and all they have to do to get back on is put on apologetic face and kiss some behind. All the whole never changing their behavior or actions. The whole process seems fake and pointless.how many times is static age going to get in trouble for abusing his forum badge? You don't deserve a second chance if you start spamming an I.p. When people spam server I.p's, they do it to advertise their server until they get banned. They do it on purpose so giving a second chance makes no sense.
