Current rule is as follows: Clause 3.1 - Trespassing If a town owner asks you to leave their region for any reason and you are not a member of the region, you must comply with their request. You may not return to this region unless the applicant owner or the owner who has asked you to leave permits you to do so, by any means, including setting homes in the region (please see Section 8 Clause 4.) After having dealt with a few unwanted visitors to our towns I have noticed a flaw in the Enforcement of the above rules. I have also been in contact with a Moderator who agreed with my observation of this. When a Trespassing visitor is asked to leave and refuses to do so the Moderator told me there is only two things that can be done. He will be asked to leave by the moderator and if the user does not comply, he will be forcefully moved outside the town borders. (Even, if the user keeps returning) Now usually, that should be enough for the first offense of the above Rule. However, I have seen some of them returning and continue their bad behaviors, such as trolling, annoying the town members and even theft. Here is where the Enforcement of rules need to be punishable by a Ban for not complying to the Admin and the Town owner/s request to stay out and not to return. This being their second offense and knowingly not allowed to return "by any means" as stated in Clause 3.1
I like the idea. But I have conflicting thoughts about this, as weird as that sounds! 1st.- You don't want to discourage players from playing in ECC and a ban (even if it's short) might just do that if the person being punished is new or relatively new (a week or so). So from this point of view I kind of disagree and would rather look for other tools to stop this sort of behavior (a tp to spawn instead of just outside the town, a kick, a kick from the server). [for those of you who will be like huh? yeah, that was intentional. A kick as in a rl kick]. 2nd.- This will definitely help with players who have already been around for some time. A month or more maybe and players that already have higher ranks. You can definitely temp ban those because they should already know better and the chance of having them leaving ECC is quite a bit lower than that of new players. So, taking in consideration my 2 previous points... I think both should be taken into account and the decision should be left entirely to the mods that even though it already is, they will now have permission or access to this sort of tools/punishments.
It's not so immediate though. The player would have been warned several times to get to that point. He would have to go through: - mayor's request to abandon the area (and not doing it) - probably a second and 3rd time of the same. - a request from a mod to abandon the area - 2nd request from a mod or tp outside the area and the going back in. - receive a warning from a mod (i'm guessing here though). -kick -ban I'm guessing that would be the situation where the rule would allow mods to ban the player. Could be sooner, or even later (more events in between). So, a ban would be a fair punishment after so many faults
Yes. On a more serious note, it seems to me that the way that you propose is already used such as in trolling cases that I find grazing the pastures of the complaints section. So while it could be added to rules, I don't think it will change anything.
