Haven't seen this in action, but couldn't this be easily abused? I mean, flying over walls that were meant to be restricted... Advantages in farming, faster picking up items, better vantage/standing points to farm. (reed farming especially) PVP Annoyances, flying over people while hitting them... I don't know about this...
This has all been discussed and thought about. If it turns out there are problems, of course things will change/rules will be made. We will see how things go.
Flying costs $75. People likely won't abuse it. If there is abuse, some guidelines rules will come into play, and the user may have the feature removed if the offense(s) are very severe. Just like all donation features. :b The price will "scare" people enough into hopefully not abusing it.
As Moo said, I assume only dedicated users will get flying thus the price, it's set for a reason, the price is very well set, stops from users abusing it. Someone will not dish out 75$ just to abuse a server.
I think it should just be a 2 hour/day type of thing, so people cant abuse it for things besides building. I would easily pay 75$ to get an upperhand in farming.
Does it much matter? If you are paying $75 already, that means you could just donate for money, which is "unfair" in some users' eyes. You [likely] worked hard for that money IRL, just like working hard for it in-game. I see no problem with fly giving someone an upperhand like that. o.o
I don't see how it could give an advantage it Melon/Pumpkin farming, but the one hit farming could give an advantage, but for that amount of money, it should have that advantage.
reeds and wheat are 1 hit farm blocks (you can go through the reeds at higher speed and break everything and then you can fly through that line at higher speed grabbing the items (its probably very effective)
You could, but moving at higher speeds actually causes you to not pick up items. It happens when you're sprinting, you wont pick up every thing.
That's indeed true, but you could just hit all the reeds down, then fly back around afterwards and pick up all you left behind, but that may become a pain on larger Reed farms, I think the price is set where it has to be set.
You can pick up items faster.. From what I know the compass is just a teleport, while the fly you actually travel through the distance between.
You will still have to move slower, even if youre going back behind yourself to pick up missed items. If you go too fast, you wont pick up every thing. It happens when you sprint.
