    Citizens of EcoCityCraft, this effects all of you!

    It has come to my attention that we are consuming our only fossil fuel, coal, at an alarming rate! This realization came to mind after witnessing the horrid conditions of the build portal locations in the wild. Many of these locations are in complete shambles from devastation in the form of a machine comprised of users like you and I!

    I'm launching a campaign to fight the battle against using coal as a source of fuel! We need to:

    1. Mine in Moderation!
    Our ore supplies are not unlimited and will deplete one day! Stop wasting ores, stop selling coal to the server!

    2. Convert to Charcoal!
    Charcoal is a renewable resource that fully functions as a coal substitute! It's so much easier to obtain as you don't need to mine underground to find it! Many users don't know that you can obtain charcoal from simply burning a log down in your furnace!

    3. Stop selling coal in our shops!
    A decrease in coal sales could be viewed as a financial setback for some users, if that is the case sell it if you HAVE to! If we stop selling coal we can raise awareness for Charcoal as a replacement! I am contacting owners of businesses to persuade them to convert to selling only charcoal!

    After surveys of Stone : Ore ratios I have compiled some alarming data!

    Is this a joke? o_o..

    We will likely NEVER... EVER... run out of any ores. There is simply too much land for us to run out. The chances of a map reset are higher than us running out of resources... so there is NOTHING to worry about.

    The average chunk has about 150 coal ore in it.
    Each chunk is 16x16
    Ecc is 12000x12000
    Total coal: ((12000/16)^2)*150 = 562,500

    But as you mentioned, coal is rather useless as a ore, cause you can do virtually everything with charcoal.

    We have discussed the idea of a mining portals however, a portal to a 1000x1000 map that gets reset often.

    I understand the amount of coal that our 12000x12000 map can hold but coal is constantly being mined and new users join daily. It's impossible to calculate how much coal is leaving the server from mining.

    With all the new users joining the map daily to extend the life of the current reg map a mining portal to a temp map would be a really good idea KHobbits. Hope you guys implement something like that, maybe even make some of them pvp enabled, mining wars for the real! Race for the resources or die trying!

    Creepers in general! As long as block destruction was turned off, they couldn't be used for griefing.

    It makes me happy to see that some others are acknowledging issues like this. :D

    I'v recently bought a plot in Olympus to support a small treefarm/charcoal producer. Once I gain more support and eocodollors I'm gong to expand and start putting charcoal vendors out there. To sell char at a reasonable price.

    I'm also trading Charcoal for Coal, 2:1! Great deal!
    If anyone wants to help out let me know! Even the smallest donations count!

    FULL PVP ENABLED, creepers and hard mode on! All commands disabled!

    Or rather, pvp turns on for the character after 2 mins on the map, to prevent spawn camping. People entering the map could kill people who had been in for 2 mins, but not the other way around. Now THAT would be epic.
