Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the extremely annoying trend of random people posting their opinions on the ban/complaint forum? I love reading that thing; I think we all do. I also think it's important to read, because it makes it easier to spot trusted and un-trusted players. Plus, it's entertaining. And we have awesome mods, just saying. They handle the bans and complaints, in my opinion, pretty fairly. So maybe we should just trust them more and stop pretending we get to "vote" over whether a player gets to come back or not. Sorry if too ranty, and not pointing to any one person, just want to know if I am the only one annoyed here?
People that do this do get punished i can tell you from past experiences. The forum bans do suck because you cant see what is happening and if you need a contract or lwc removal you cant get one.
I'm tired of people getting warned 50 times BEFORE receiving a forum WARNING. I say no more warnings before warnings. Everyone knows the rules and if you don't they are in a sticky. If they truely didn't know the rules then they will stop after their first forum warning
@staff! I'm personally tiered of seeing mayors+ commenting on complaints/ban appeals, they clearly know the rules and that they shouldn't do it unless they add EVIDENCE (ie not just text, EVIDENCE) but they do it because nobody will forum temp/ban them. I know forum temp bans are a thing cause I've had one myself back in March 2014 for being annoying to Andrewkm, but I think it's time staff starts cracking down on this stuff. If you go to the complaints you can see most of them on the first page alone have "soandso please don't post on complaints that don't pertain to you" or "soandso I have removed your post and gave you a forum warning, don't post on complaints that don't pertain to you." Which is funny cause they claim to see all forum warnings (which I'm sure is true) but to an extent I've never heard of a player ever receiving a forum temp ban, well maybe once cause I'm friends with @MSU_SPaRtAns321 lol. But not often enough. +4 man, speak your mind.
No no no... I'm sick and tired of people moderating the appeals section and giving tips and pointers. That isn't your dang job! If you want the job, apply for staff! If you think you're so good at moderating and feel like your opinion matters, then apply for staff. Otherwise, keep it to the chat in game.
I aggree mayors + should be punished severely only the builders and residents as they are new to the server deserves more chances ;D
I'm not as annoyed at builders, but even residents should know better. But its more the "public debate" about what a person's punishment should be. Or whenever I read the phrase "I think we should let this person come back because they seem sorry." That is exactly why it doesn't matter what you think on ban forum. Plus, the more people chime in, the more people feel like their opinion should be counted too. So then more people chime in and it snow balls from there.
Not even residents. Builders don't have forum accounts. Everyone should receive the same punishment. Enough of this "Pro-Builder" crap.
I agree I am sick of people making tons of irrelevant posts and only getting warned for it. We need to start handing out more forum bans.
Well in my time gone from ecc the main server i played on had this, you could view ban appeals and complaints and nobody could comment but staff, and if you had evidence to post or something relevant then message a staff member on the forums with your evidence and that staff member would post it. Idk what you guys think of that idea but i think maybe staff should give it a try for like a week and see what happens
I think the staff might have less headache for sure, and might be able to get through the forum quicker because of less off topic stuff.
