I have a suggestion. Implant some sort of death messages upon deaths in the PvP world. These would be exclusive to the PvP world, and wouldn't broadcast into the Global channels - Only the PvP world channel. Another addition along with this would allow you to disable/enable these death messages. I feel like this would be a neat add-on.
[PvP] Phiphiphi was shot by Steve! [Pvp] Phiphiphi was stabbed by Steve! [Pvp] Phiphiphi was pricked to death! [PvP] Phiphiphi exploded! (Not real as TNT is not usable in pvp) [Pvp] Phiphiphi fell to their death! [PvP] Phiphiphi starved to death! [PvP] Phiphiphi drowned! [Pvp] Phiphiphi burned to death! [PvP] Phiphiphi was chopped in half by Steve! [Pvp] Phiphiphi was punched in the face by Steve! [PvP] Phiphiphi committed ------rejected as might be offensive [PvP] Phiphiphi fell out of the world! [PvP] Phiphiphi chickened out! (When player leaves arena with low health, not sure if possible)
It'd also be cool if there was a command along with it that allowed you to only set death messages for certain people, for example, doing something like /pvp deathmessages off and then /pvp deathmessages 3point14mp unknownrider would only show the messages if 3point or unknown got killed. Or you could do something like /pvp nodeathmessages jetscat so that it shows deathmessages for everyone but jetscat
.. You pick either on or off.. Making a command that detailed would be too confusing for some - Making it simple is a better choice.
Meh, I'm not too fond of this idea. I see times when hordes of unarmored people charge into the pvp arena trying to kill the one armored person. Only to fall time and time again to their swords and arrows. What I'm saying is, when people die in mass amounts, that's bound to get annoying. Not to mention, people like sneaking into the arena and killing people unnoticed. So the messages would pretty much just out them instantly.
I like the idea, maybe a couple of death message variations for each type of death. Jetscat slipped and fell, such a tragedy. pbrassat17 didnt see the peel and went over the ledge. phiphiphi took an arrow to the knee. Skullman74 doesnt sprouted some feathers. Jetscat got felled by an axe, TIMBER!!!!! icondigi got cleaved in two. t_bone199205 found the shanking end of a sword. Jetscat was cut down before his time. Ryanblocks2 didnt block the last punch too good. trevalynfar was pummeled to death by angry crowd of pvp'ers sick of being killed.
+1 I love it, because when someone is 2v1 someone, you want to know who killed the one person, I love the command.
