Brief Description: People with TPA have the ability to /tpahere people into the pvp are and kill them. I did this once to test and verify, and came to the conclusion that it gives an unfair advantage and is harmful to the economy as traders won't trust tps anymore. Instructions: Stand in the pvp area, claim you are buying expensive stuff, tp them there and kill them. How many times did you recreate this bug?: Once. Result: It worked. Expected Result: It is blocked, like /home and /spawn Evidence: Just try it yourself. Happy Easter
So let me get the story straight here. Rutger, you've seen people being scammed in this way right? And something inside you said that you yourself should try it out huh. So what did you do? You did it. You told Joliver1998 that you would buy what he was selling, sent him a /tpa, then killed him and took the item. What were you thinking?... I hope you understand that this is a twisted form of scamming, and abuse of the tp feature. This is not the way to get attention. You broke some very important rules today. Since this isn't the first time I've seen your name associated with scamming I'll make sure that you're looking at some serious long-term punishment here.
Tried it once? This was made in April, today he did it to me. A ban seems a little too lenient I think. That is the most unfair thing I've ever seen, worse than x-ray by far, which is the longest ban...
./spawn or ./home doesn't work in pvp areas, so there is no way to get out of them except run or fly around and try to find the exit. :|
You can also bind your /home using a mod like macro/keybind mod. That way, if someone starts randomly attacking you, you can simply press "h" or whatever your bind is and teleport away immediately. This is a good defense against spawner /home killers in the nether as well that are zapping into spawner locations and killing people "dishonorably" (imo), half the time they may still be invisible when they attack.
Am I the only one that thinks this sounds a little ridiculous even if it works? xD But in all seriousness: I highly suggest always having a powertool with /spawn or /home binding to it if you have the ability to do so. If not, find a mod to have a hotkey to it (I myself prefer powertool though.) If neither of these are available to you, then I suggest attempting to get the other user to teleport to you instead of you to him. If a user has valuable items for sale, then of course teleporting them to PvP would be a possible scam, but if a user is paying you money, killing them doesn't get you it for free the same way. In other words - have the person who is paying cash teleport to you instead of the other way around, it's a lot harder to be scammed that way. And make sure you never carry valuables when teleporting to other users you do not trust.
You try combat blind and in a location you haven't tried before But it is a good tip, I always do this more so cos I like to see where a person is before I throw items.
