Well the new thing going around ecc is the debate, melons or pumpkins? Previously I had almost exclusively farmed wheat and melons, but today i decided to give each pumpkins and melons 5 mins of my time. Using a eff2 unbreak2 diamond axe I farmed 621 pumpkins which sold for $372.60. Now this may be controversial using only an eff2; however, using this I found that even eff2 was an insta-break so i thought it no difference. If someone would be kind enough to loan me a eff5 axe I would be more than happy to re-do the test. Using a eff5 unbreak3 silk1 diamond pickaxe I farmed 363 melon blocks, selling for $726. Almost twice as much as pumpkins for those not so good with math. These numbers come down to this: 1 hour of farming each: Pumpkins: approx. $4,471.20 Melons: approx. $8,712.00 My verdict, even with an eff5 axe i think melons all the way. I would love to hear from you guys if you think my test was accurate enough, and if you guys have found the same results. thanks to usernameofdeath for the use of the lizard bay farm
Atm I would go with pumpkins because I can't use my normal pick to farm melons! I would need the sword from the starstore to farm them. I do agree though that melons make more but with a lot of the people on the server without that sword, melons are sort of hard to farm.
No offence but you shouldn't tell people what you think pumpkins can make every hour if u tested it with an eff 2 axe.. let me fix it for you: i sell around 2000 pumpkins every 5 minutes which comes down to: 1200$ x 12 = $14400.. this is all done with fly and eff 5 axe.. which most people use!
well I think melons are best if u have a silk touch pick and eff anything but if the only thing u got is a axe do pumpkins.
Eff 5 axe and fly pumpkin farming can make up to 18k. Pumpkins have always been better... Btw please explain how you are making so much off melons without the eff 5 sword, I would love to know. Without the sword melons are only supposed to make like 8k an hour max they break so slowly.
Well first producer i do agrree that you can make more if you have fly, but considering most people dont want to doante the $60, this was aimed more at the non-donators. And matty i have an eff5 unbreak3 silk1 pick, no special trick or anything else so i have no idea why the melons break so fast
Oh matty i did find a problem, i miltiplied by 20 instead of twelve, i dont know why i guess school just fried my brain, the new numbers are up
I did the same experiment and came up with pumpkins. $12,623/hr Melons: 8,126/hr Note: Although pumpkins still make more money the recent $.15 price drop decreased the amount made considerably.
Well, first of all, the debate's not really that new, but since I own a pump farm, I'll have to say pumpkins Actually, if I didn't have a pumpkin farm, I would say get one only if it's big, because you won't make any money if it's small ($50: whoopie)
