I don't farm much - if at all, for now; I might get into it soon - but I've noticed that most of the food-farming methods (i.e., wheat and melon) require you to convert something into something else for more profit. Excluding silktouch on melons, of course.

Pumpkin seeds are $0.50 (that's what it said earlier when I did /worth...). Pumpkins are $2 (according to /worth earlier today). One pumpkin is four seeds, so seeds and pumpkins are worth the same amount if you convert pumpkins to seeds.

This is a suggestion I want opinions on: Make pumpkin seeds $0.65 to $0.75. That will mean users have to convert their pumpkins into seeds, like they have to convert their melon slices to blocks and wheat to bread. Because one pumpkin turns into four seeds, it would require more time moving items around in the inventory for space, and the time of converting all of the pumpkins.

I know people already make "20k and hour" with pumpkin farming, but they literally just plow through everything in seconds, then /sell, plow, /sell, plow... Seems that way, at least. I'd like to see users have to work a little more and have pumpkins using the same "convert process" as the other food farming methods.

My suggestion may be ignorant and stupid since I don't farm, but I figured I'd propose it to see what people think. I honestly don't know if it would be good or bad, bring in more money or less... I would just like to see users doing more work for their money. xP

I think it would add a very small amount of time for a pretty good return. Like adding seconds more but people can end up making a noticeable amount more.

I figured so lol. Only way it would likely work is if pumpkins themselves were lowered a bit.

I think this sounds like a fair suggestion, but pumpkin farming is already the main way people farm, the melon block and bread conversions just make the gap in profits between the different types of farming a little bit smaller. Pumpkins are still noticeably ahead of wheat, melons, and reeds in terms of profit/hour.

Though if there was an increase in price from reeds to paper to books, it might bring a little more attention to reed farming again, considering how easy they are to collect.

Yeah, lol. I actually want pumpkins nerfed...I saw some people farming them earlier and realized how easy it is. There shouldn't be one method better than everything else. Seeing pumpkin prices go down and keeping seeds as they are (or also a bit lower) would be interesting and possibly balance out all farming methods.

Reeds just need help... ._. I'm pretty sure it takes a good 20-80 minutes for them to just grow one taller, depending on the amount of users online. Seeing it become a viable farming method again would be refreshing.

I remember having a big reed farm a couple maps ago, and there were quite a few of them. Just ever since pumpkin farming became a thing in like 1.8, reeds died. Maybe a separate suggestion for it should be made?

I'm not big on farming, I mostly mine. So i'll leave making the suggestion to someone who is more concerned than I am about it. Though i'll comment on it lots.

Please there is no way the pumpkin price should ever go down.It has gone down so many times that it is insane.
