:: Pricing Suggestions :: Item/Rank/Feature: Melon Block Data Value: 103:0 Current Price: $1.75 Suggested Price: $2 Brief Description: Using a melon sword or a pumpkin axe with silk touch is how you obtain this item. Because of the price drop of $0.25 per melon block, the melon sword's value dropped. Open Discussion: The price of this item needs to raise back to $2 is because when they were worth $2 other items were worth more. Melon farming is not worth it anymore, even with a melon sword if the price is as low as it is.
Yeah I'm very interested in what the melon situation is like a couple months from now. Pumpkins should not make as much as melons. It's not complicated. One costs 200k (in nstars), and one cost 10k (max). Granted, pumpkin farming without fly isn't quite as much as melons, but I have personally tested this on a huge vanilla minecraft farm, and without flying, I can make 14k per hour with pumpkins and 15k per hour with melons. 1k per hour is not worth 190k more for a tool. And the solution is not to say "oh well everyone can just farm pumpkins", the solution is to give melon sword owners something that they deserve, because they paid for it. I mean I've already lost 100k in value on my melon sword, and we seem to be very close to "unlocking" melon swords and letting them be "made", which makes every melon sword owner lose about 300k. That's not funny, that's not how an economy works, that's just plain stupid. Melons should be back up. (And I remember $2.40 when I started playing a 3 months ago.... if only we could go back to that )
I've said this a million times, To make more with pumpkins you need fly, and fly costs more than a melon sword, so it should make more. If you want the in-depth version go to tdogg's suggestion... And 3 months ago they weren't $2.40, melon swords have been around since like january and melons were always at $2 during that time. (Melons did go to $1.50 back when picks and axes worked on them)
